Description
Hey hey heyheyyyy
it's
WTF FRIDAYYY
Do you know what you should do?
GIVE THAT FUCKING RABBIT SOME TRIX CEREAL.
GIVE HIM THAT FUCKING CEREAL NOW.
LET HIM TASTE ITS SUGARY MEDIOCRITY, ITS MIDDLING FLAVOUR, AND LET THE NEUROTIC BASTARD GET ON WITH HIS LIFE.
God, this used to piss me off. What's with all of the sadistic sociopaths populating children's cereal commercials?? When is Fred gonna snap, and bash Barney's skull in for some Fruity Pebbles?!?! When is Sonny going to stop hanging out with such devious enablers?!?
WHEN ARE THEY GONNA GIVE THAT RABBIT SOME GODDAMN CEREAL?!
Are they conditioning children for the harsh realities of life... that sometimes, no matter how desperately we long for something, the world is fickle and cruel? That suffering is an unending truth of the universe? Or are they teaching children that the Trix Rabbit needs to stop demanding government handouts, and must pay into a consumer culture if we wants to buy some happiness?!?!
Maybe Trix Rabbit was just some sort of karmic backlash; those pesky kids never caught Lucky, and someone needed to suffer on the mascot end.
There was always something vaguely unsettling about the prejudice placed on Trix Rabbit. Like he could never move up in the world, or in the eyes of others.
It's okay, Mr. Rabbit. My parents only ever bought Cheerios and bran flakes. Still, I don't think you were missing out on too much.

If we had eaten Trix much, I totally would have given him some of my cereal and yogurt. We were a Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cheerios, especially Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, Cap'n Crunch, Cocoa Puffs, Life, Great Grains, Frosted Flakes, Clusters, Basic 4, Froot Loops, Smacks, Kix, and Fruity/Cocoa Pebbles family.
Dang, I think we had everything besides Trix and Lucky Charms. Go figure.
Truth is, my favorite for years was Great Grains. Couldn't get enough of those little date and pecan pieces.

Don't worry, Mr. Trix Rabbit; go on, go ahead and rip that little fucker's throat out. I won't tell anyone. Go on, He deserves it...
Yep, you just put into visual medium another of my childhood insecurities. Trix does suck anyways, so he really isn't missing anything, but that's just cruel.

Y'know, the Cookie Crisp dog used to share his cereal with everyone. Now he's trying to be the wolf version of the Trix Rabbit for...some odd reason.
WHAT'S WRONG WITH SHARING, SERIOUSLY.

THIS.
EXACTLY THIS.
Being Australian, I didn't even know these things existed until a few years ago... We only have IRON MAN FOOD for our breakfasts. I guess because if we let ourselves get fat on sugary breakfast cereals then the drop bears or deadly octopi or something will get us and we die.
But in recent years children have been getting soft and now we have a sugary cereal with a rabbit mascot ... who stops ordinary dogs from eating his cereal. I guess prejudice begets prejudice...

The rabbit has gotten two bowls of cereal in his 60-odd year run.
Once was because they held a vote for the kiddies- Give him a bowl or no?
96% voted they give him the damn Trix. (Or something like that. It was in the 90's)
I don't remember when the other time was.

This used to really irk me when I was younger.
THOSE LITTLE BASTARDS EVEN DENIED HIM FLIPPING YOGURT.
At least Lucky gets something of a break since the tables are turned, and it's a group of greedy teens forever chasing Lucky Charms instead.
Although I honestly never understood the hype surrounding those cereals; I was a cheerios/Oh's/Hone Nut Clusters gal. ;o

though to be honest, trix isn't that good. i'm more of a fruity/cocoa pebbles kind of girl

Okay no when I was a child this seriously outraged me, so much that I bothered the company with my poor 2nd grader writing and various calls until they finally put up a poll a week or so later in their commercials to see "HEY KIDS, SHOULD THE RABBIT GET SOME CEREAL? Send your vote to PObox something something!" Guess what. The majority voted no. :T
Can you believe that? Its not just the company, its enough people that want to watch this rabbit suffer between their daily shows that no he will never get his trix. They did, though, prepare me for the harsh reality of the internet I guess? Everyone wants to watch others suffer in the mask of anonymity.
Also In relation to cookie crisp comments, you remember when the dog had full access to cookies and cookie crisp? Except that there was small amounts of chocolate n them so it probably killed him in the end. That's why the wolf never gets any. >>

Do you know what he could do with that cereal? Doyou know how much time and effort was put into conditioning kids to show no sympathy for that genetically bred bunny? All it would take is one box, just one, and it would be all over.
I saw the potential casuality numbers, the big eared freak isn't getting any off me.

On our TV (no matter how stupid and tasteless it is) only much friendlier cereal commercials can be found. Like Nesquick for example.

Know what's worse? those commercials that give plant/sugar/chemical based food eyes and a face and a personality... they don't want to be eaten and are desperately trying to escape. See Goldfish crackers, chips ahoy cookies, and old Pop tart commercials.
If your cookies start talking to you, you have problems.

General Mills has a real problem with it's advertising. The only way it can convey something being worthwhile is that that item is worth STEALING. Which is a taboo thing to do. But since these guys feel the need to risk their necks to steal them, they must be the greatest things on earth.
Trix, Lucky Charms, Cookie Crisp, even more recent Honey Nut Cheerios have placed the Bee against various thieving honey themed aggressors.
why must breakfast be such a struggle? What can't a commercial just be a cartoon guy going "you know, this ain't bad." and leaving it at that? We have to make it extreme to the point where WARS are being fought and various male/ambiguous animals have been slaughtered over sugary bits for your milk.
They deny the Trix Rabbit these fruits, because, typically rabbits eat carrots or grain, not fruit. That would be silly, but then Trix changed their cereal to look like rainbow coloured dog food pellets... which I'm sure you could feed a rabbit, so what the hell? Do they think we identify with the bratty kids who won't give the guy a break? The trix rabbit might as well be trying to get a kind word out of Apple's Justin Long. "Silly rabbit, Trix are the only thing that are good, and whatever you have is shit and you'll die from using it, I am superior buy Trix kids."
then it's the case with Post and it's Fruity Pebbles, which is in clear violation of any Flintstone's canon I've seen. Remember on the show where Barney was outsmarting Fred all the time and being a dick? NO. Barney was just as much an idiot as loud-mouth Fred, who was always getting the two of them in trouble. Why the weird Barney slant? This same inconsistency was in the Movie as well, but that is for another time. lol
The only mascot who has a good balance is Froot Loop's Toucan sam, who finds himself on both ends of the theft spectrum, but at the end of the commercial, usually ends up saying "look, we both like the cereal, let's eat it together, maybe make some wacky limited time colour out of it. Mmkay?" This type of tolerance and love for people that initially seemed to be doing you harm or wrong is the type of message most cereals should strive for... not just senseless repetition and wrongdoing.
Though, now that I think of it, why didn't Wile E. Coyote ever have a cereal? He's perfect for the job.
