What happens to people who get poked? Most who do don't survive to say. In combat with another the quirk can cause explosions, an electric shock, or other deadly forces. When it's time to be evasive, poking the ground can create a force that sends him into the air for a quick getaway.

My self insert, is a supposed orphan. His quirk came in at a really young age, and was first activated while innocently drawing on window fog in the backseat of the family car. This led to the car being torn in half by the forces that came put of the tiny index fingers of the child. Physically while physically unharmed overall by the accident. Somewhere between the accident and being found by Hearse, he sustained brain damage when he used the quirk on himself. This left him vulnerable to strange hallucinations, and false visual perceptions of the world around him, turning his kid life into Meet The Pyro. Villains wanted to get their hands on the kid to use him for their plots. The first attempted kidnapping went seriously wrong for the villain. The encounter caused a park full of families to turn into a major disaster zone, and the one who caused it, once again went unharmed. Hearse witnessed the destruction and new this kid could not be allowed to become a villain, or used by them and so she took him in for the safety of the world. As an adult the hallucinations and distorted visual perceptions are not as serious, but they are still there. He just learned self control.
