Description
Over my + 20 years if bejng alive I've accumulated so many strange memories (as expected through one's life I assume) which randomly pop in and out of my head, resulting in me randomlylaughing.... sometimes at the worst possible times. These are some of the ones that have been popping in nonstop un-announced recently, so er.. sit down gather 'roun and see what kinda weird memories I can pull up.
I'll get the most embarassing one out of the way. The time I ruined my older sister's computer with err... R18 stuff. I was around 9 or 10. Just discovering the internet, youtube, google, and a lot more than 9-10 year old should be discovering. Not sure if everyone remembers, but there was a time on youtube where boarderline NSFW videos and thumbnails were scattered around youtube. Whenever my mother let me have computer time, I spent most of my time on youtube and would get bombarded with those very NSFW-y videos. Whenever my mother would do something like shower, I'd let my young curiosity get the better of me. And when you're a kid, they internet is not the Ontario license plate slogan. (Yours to Discover) I'd be straying into R18 internet quite often. And it eventually got to a point where I kept clicking links and getting overwhelmed with pop ups. Eventually it got to so much where the computer couldn't handle it anymore and ran the slowest I've ever seen a computer go without freezing. I don't know how how many viruses infected it, but it was enough to make it struggle to work after being forced to shut down, and then start up. I panicked and forced another shut down and went to watch TV and pretend nothing happened. But oh no. Mothers know better than that. My mom went to the computer after she got done whatever she was doing and right away knew something was wrong, once the computer started up and wouldn't run properly. And make a whole lot of computer suffering noises. In summary she was not very happy about that. And I don't even know which is worse. The fact this was on my sister's computer where both of them would be seeing the search history...
or the awkward talk on how I ended up going to those websites so frequently..... I don't remember when it got replaced, but I remember my sister getting a new computer because the old one had been too damaged by whatever I had let onto it. Seeing this was all like 13 years ago and both mom and my sister have forgotten (hopefully) I can laugh easily about it.
Lately I have been remembering stuff from the closer past. This next one was probably within 5-7 years ago. It was Christmas eve. My entire family had gathered at my older cousin's house. Around the time my cousin, who is a member of the city's police department, and her other cop friends showed up in full police outfits and gear, my youngest niece who was probably 2 at the time started freaking out and screaming her little toddler head off when that cousin and her m8s arrived. And of course we were all like "Damnn. That young and already afraid of cops?". My other cousin (her mother) quickly had to explain that earlier in the evening my niece had been told that it was illegal to open Christmas gifts before Christmas day (which she had secretly done) and didn't know that my cousin and her invited friends were police officers, coming over in full uniform. I just remember me and my other cousins eating and chilling in silenece before hearing screams and cries in the living room. (This seems like one if those stories that would make it into a fakejake video about kids doing funny/weird things comps) I also have a memory of this same cousin letting me ride in the back a police car while she drove us around the neighbourhood with sirens and lights going off, going at emergency response speeds. I think that was on that same night too, which is why I'm mentioning it here.
(The next things will be stuff thought of on the spot)
There are somethings I know people in general may remember. Like things that happen at the Olympic games. For example. Remember that 2014 Olympic opening in Sochi where one of the rings didn't open when the others were, to form the Olympic ring emblem? Or how about when the Australian speed skater won because the competitors slipped into each other at the last seconds moments the race giving him the lead. I think he was unaffected because he was too far behind them when they all slipped.
There was a time on one of the cruises I went on where the wind was so intense, it blew the hat off a lady. Sadly that hat was lost to the ocean. Speaking of cruises, while it was considered a hazard and prohibited under the "Don't through things off the ships" rule, I always loved to see people with drinks with the little umbrellas in them, release those little umbrellas off the side of the ship and watch as they'd spin like little helicopters and drift around along the side of the ship. I'd never do that myself because that's bad for the environment, and I don't want to get kicked off a cruise for something so dumb.
If there's something I miss from taking driving lessons, it's the really fun instructors I've had. My favourite had to be a friend's dad. He was the most chill, and funny. I don't know what it is with Asian elders and mimicing the sounds of things to describe them, but this guy used to do it so much. Even more so than my dad. I'm pretty sure I have picked up this habit from him. (My friend told me I mimicked the sound of a plane landing perfectly and I'd like to credit that driving instructor for that) This instructor also gave some bad advice as well such as "be aggressive", "car has horn for a reason", sometimes you have to just go and pull out and assert yourself". I don't follow these words he taught me, but thinking back on it makes me laugh. The weirdest driving instructor experience I've had was not with this guy, but an instructor I had before him. This old Sihk man who was usually really chill (except for the time I ran a curb) and very likeable. The thing he made me do was pull up to a random house that was under construction. I thought he was going to tell me I did something wrong, or give me a tip on something, but when I stopped he just goes "Wait here" while he gets out of the car. So I'm thinking "Okay maybe something's up with the car and he needs to check it. I turn to look at him to see what he's up to and I see him going onto that hard-hat site without a second thought. Walking up there as if he was one of the workers and belonged there. I'm sitting there so confused, and then realized what was up. Dude just goes into a porta-potty. I didn't see any of the workers or anything but they were probably looking down at him and me, wondering "hey who's that random old man getting out of that car and using our bathroom?" Maybe he did know those guys, but never told me, which I guess would make sense but he was letting me choose the path and we just happened to come buy that construction site randomly.
I haven't played TF2 in a while. Partially because I got bored from constantly playing over a year nonstop during my free time, and because I started encountering people pretending to be me for some reason. However I often think about some of the random mic spammers, or chatters that show up everynow and then. Does anybody who still plays still encounter that one bot micspammer account that plays bass boosted audio of someone giving a passionate church sermon? I used to always find that one really hilarious for some reason. Besides there was one spammer, who'd play edited Heavy and Medic voice lines, to make it sound like they were doing the naughty, and the some others who played a song about a guy and his dad, and another audio about err... a specific type of torture. Funnier than audio mic spammers are those who chat and say really funny things. Like calling a level 3 sentry a "Level 3 ball stretcher" or whenever our team was getting set back he'd say "They're stretching our balls" and stuff like that. I've never come across little kids who start complaining about being killed by the same person, or calling the game unfair, but there was one little kid who's username was "Demoman" who'd come onto the mic trying to impersonate the Demoman's voice, which was both cute and funny. The worst person I've come across on TF2 was not an angry raging player but someone who was in the bathroom while playing and forcing us to hear him, pooping. Everyone was mad at him, but we couldn't get him kicked, because I guess there was a silent majority who like hearing a guy poop?
That shall be all for now my brain is getting tired, since it's late at night, and I need sleep
