Description A wonderful day, isn't it? That was exactly my thought when I 'discovered' this lovely place to take a photo, while my Acrocanthosaurus seemed to have the same opinion about the location. Maybe, we share the same sense of romantic environments, which let me sometimes feel that I do not belong to the world with its every day routines, because of I feel so drawn towards romantic places and can easily forget about the time when I'm visiting such a lovely place in nature. This rather calm Acro also likes to spent time there, while feeling the warm sun of the spring on his body.

Now, the coloration for the texture was inspired by a dream I  had many weeks ago, where a similarly colored Acrocanthosaurus appeared and I can remember how much I liked the dark appearance, which got broken up by colorful spots like the orange crests or the red patch on its neck. So, this had to be used for the model. Unfortunately, my technical limitations made it nearly impossible to sculpt in a reasonable way with more visible detail.

A part of the scene and the whole Acrocanthosaurus were rendered in Blender and afterwards edited in Gimp to make the transition of the virtually recreated environment (very simple) less noticeable.

Thank you for spending time with the picture, writing a comment or just for faving

I love this! Hooray for theropods posed in an accurate sitting posture. Looks so peaceful, and as you know, I LOVE the markings.

Oh, that's great to hear that the posture is possible for Acrocanthosaurus
Yes, and for me it seems the Acrocanthosaurus is smiling with its opened jaws and I'm very content with the coloration

Are they very expensive to feed?

Well, when he was just a juvenile I could buy some steaks at the grocery, but now with a full grown theropod I have to follow other strategies like a solid stock of herbivores.

Is this model like for the fun of it or is it for Prehistoric Kingdom? Either way it's badass c:

I made this model for myself, but Prehistoric Kingdom will get its own model, which won't be made by me. For the moment, it seems they don't have anything for me to do.

Thank you very much for the compliment

That's a shame, it's a very nice model I don't get it why they won't add it.

At first I wasn't assigned to model this species for PK, so I never was in charge of that.
Second, there are some people, who are saying that the texture and details aren't enough detailed for the game. Ok, I have to admit I don't own a recent gaming PC, thus I'm quite limited in the sculpting department, otherwise Blender will just crash. Some months ago, I also had an argument with one, which meant to throw a lot of work I did into the waste basket. And soon, I got the impression I'm useless for them, so since that nobody of them asked me to do anything for the project.

Now, I'm mainly doing my own stuff within my technical limitations.

Well that's a shame you are very talented. I would say you could always make the base and have someone with a better pc sculp in the details, but that's just me. Don't know if that would work in real live. I get what they mean with that they don't have a lot of detail but I actually quite like them that way.

Thank you much for this lovely appreciation! After they said I no longer should try to sculpt my assigned models, I only made just lowpolys of Allosaurus, Torosaurus and some others. Afterward the modelling I put them on their sever, but it seems they are rotting there, because they got no more attention.
So, I'm a bit fed up with this matter and try now to focus on my own art.

I love this one!  I wonder what Orange-Eyed-Serpent will think.    May I ask where this was taken at?

Thank you much, my friend! Well, I got very positive feedback from her yesterday, so I'm sure my Acrocanthosaurus rendition is to her liking.

The photographed pond is not far from my home and the local fishing club uses the adjacent ponds for fishing, whereas the particular pond seems to be untouched. You can easily spend there some time and watch the various bird species or just enjoy the place, which I prefer to do, because I love the romantic atmosphere and the calmness.

I LOVE this! We had a small pond near the place where I grew up that looked exactly like the background in this picture, and during springtime, the swans would always sit there just like this fella does and wait to be fed some bread.
The colours look gorgeous, I especially like the red throat.

It's sweet to hear that positive memories come back into mind A pair of swans also inhabit this pond, which isn't used for swimming or other free time activity, so trees and other plants can grow freely and you can watch different kinds of birds. Hmm, wether this Acrocanthosaurus would be satisfied with bread or not is questionable, but the combination of bread and sausage might work
Last, but not least I thank you for the positive feedback.

I'd love to just come up and give it a tasty treat ^^

Some people would use a program called Keyshot, but I prefer working with my free tools. This approach also teaches how to estimate the right intensity of light by looking at the source image.

I think my Acro would love it to get some delicious snacks. Had to place him in a sitting position, because this place was so calm.

Oh, thank you Well, it was one half rendering the acro with a part of the background, while the other half was editing the ground underneath the body and feet.
