*cough* anyway.
I'm kinda stuck in a rut where I have lots of things I can think of that I want to draw, but nothing on paper turns out the way I want it to. I also realize I haven't drawn a proper picture in a very long time
I've just had to focus on my final film so I'm rather tired when I get home and don't have the energy to spend +10 hours on a picture.Sooo... I usually just draw something easy and simple that doesn't have a deep meaning to it, isn't super involved and is just.. ..*sighs* ..shallow I suppose.
Regardless, here's Usagi and Leo. If their dimensions crossed a few years earlier.. ..except this is inaccurate since Usagi is at least 10 years older than Leo (more or less. As far as I can figure anyway) But then again usagi's from another dimension XDDD the rules of time do not apply dangit!!
anyway, forgive me for being a hypocrite after complaining for being called "too cutsey"
...*throws hands in the air* I don't even know any more. XP

by the way, acording to the 2003 cartoon, usagi could be just 5 years older. just imagine the boys were 10 and he was 15 when he first met splinter... just a simple ramdom theory

I'm trying to figure out my own way of drawing Usagi. It's hard to sort that sort of things out sometimes :/
When I first drew him, I realized I had shaped his face just like one of the TMNT. But I guess that's sort of okay? I don't know :/

His face is very.. very round XDD
I draw his face similair to the TMNT, but I change small things so he still looks consistant with them but stands out on his own. I tend to flatten the TMNT's heads otherwise they have too much forehead which make them look babyish (especially when coupled with how I draw eyes) but I tend to give Usagi a higher forehead because He's not only got his ears to balance it out, but also his scar and that strange little tuft of hair I like to draw on him (even if it only appears now and then in canon and isn't there all the time. I just feels it balances his face out better)
as for his muzzle, I draw the flat of it as an upside down, rounded triangle where as I give the TMNT wider, rectangular muzzles. I also make Usagi's muzzle shorter (I know that doesn't exactly make sense since the TMNT should have shorter muzzles but whatever XDD)
also, I give Usagi a sharper, pointed jaw which I also give Mikey and Donny. Leo and Raph I tend to give a squarer jaw to make them look older than Mike and Don. The reason I give it to Usagi is because even though he's much older he's got boyish features. But to make sure I don't draw him looking TOO young, his eyes are smaller than Leo, Don and Mikey but larger and, unless he's angry, with a gentler curve to them than Raph's.
XD;;; I THINK that's kinda how it is at least. I'm analysing myself here which I don't normally do while I'm drawing. Generally when I draw I just go by sight and muscle-memory so not all of this might be a 100% accurate to what I actually do on paper 8B

I just go with what I feel works, represents the character's personality best and that looks appealing.
