"Uhm... Discord? If it's ok with you, I uhm... I have a favour to ask. Could you please become friends with Twilight? See... She's an alicorn now and uhm... I think it'd be nice if she could have a friend who she knew would uhm.... always be with her, no matter how many years go by. ...You know... If that's ok with you....."I like to think when he's not getting into Mischief, Discord likes spending some quiet time with his 1 and only friend.
Consider this my contribution to the "Twilight is now Immortal but her friends are not" trend. A little less morbid than the other ones out there perhaps XD
My headcanon is that Discord only likes Fluttershy and isn't friends with any other of the mane six and doesn't even get along with them very well. He is not enjoying this conversation... for multiple reasons.

I always thought they're immortal like the elves in LOTR, they can be killed but they don't age and die like normal ponies

That's basically what I figured, too. I guess it's really just nitpicking, but I think "ageless" is a much better term for that, since "immortal" literally means "not mortal", i.e. not subject to death.

I really like how you have Discord wound around the branch. It looks really good, and is just chaotic enough to fit him, but not so much that the seriousness of the moment is lost. The way he is supporting Fluttershy on his tail is a nice sign of their friendship. Also, this is now my headcannon. Fantastic job!

Awww. I can see her having this conversation with him. It's very sweet of her to even bring it up, but I like to think that he'd do it for her. Zap in on Twilight every now and again and annoy for awhile. You know, because he cares.
Though like another commenter, I think he'd get along famously with Pinkie given half the chance, but I can see it going this way, too.

I can't remember exactly. In truth, I think it was a comment someone made for their submission, telling everyone to lighten up and stop being so morbid, drawing pictures of Twilight standing in front of the graves of her friends.

Ok, I was just curios. But in hindsight, that makes sense. I personally agree with you and get the feeling that both Cadance and Twilight are mortal, while Celestia and Luna are not. I've been wrong before, though.

Maybe thatΒ΄s because Celestia and Luna were born as alicorns. We donΒ΄t know if Cadance was born as one. I have my own theory about the alicorns in a fanfic IΒ΄m writing. And, talking about that, isnΒ΄t it strange that both Luna or Celestia have never been married or something similar? Maybe this is due to their immortality.
