*sighs* I'm not fond of the colours in this one. they're ok but... not what I wanted
was saying we needed more light-hearted pictures and I agreed XD but somehow "Light-hearted" turned itself into "mush".
I had a hard time trying to get the poses close but still platonic. Perhaps I could've pushed it more but I was worried people'd get the wrong idea 
I went a little overboard with the shading as well ;___; it's too shiny, I wanted it more muted than this. *siiiiighs* I seem to be having a lot of problems with my art lately.Late-night movie-thons are not always a good idea XDD I give Don another 2 minutes before he rolls over ontop of Raph... and you know Mikey's hiding behind the couch with camera at the ready for just that moment >3
the next picture I draw will be better I promise ;___; I hope you guys like it anyway. I like the compression on Don's cheek against Raph's shoulder, I need to learn to put flesh-compression in my pictures more.

XD I don't think Raph's aware of Donny sleeping on him, and his defense you can't really see it but Raph's resting his head on Don's in return 
I'm glad Raph's build reads different to Don's because for the longest time I had problems showing differences in body shapes and I'm still learning.
Raph's mask is still redder than I make Mikey's but I muted how intensely red it is because red is a very aggressive colour and I wanted the picture to be softer than that.
Drawing Raph when he's relaxed isn't hard, but it's tricky because certain things have to used to make him still look like Raph. I have to handle his expressions completely differently than I do Mikey. Leo is the same way, I have to treat his expressions with a level of complexity that's different to the others. Donny and Mikey are easier for me.

You know, now that you mentioned that, I noticed that Raphs head was tilted oddly. Still if he does wake, I'm surehe will let DOnnie sleep as he does like his bro. SOmetimes I think a little more then the others.
Thats a clever idea. It makes him more softer and not as violent. He's violent by nature, just overly protective of his sib's.
I thought it would be eaier but I guess you have drawn Mikey and Donnie a lot more then Leo and Raph but your right i that there are certain things that make Raph Raph. Mind if I ask why Raph and Leo are so complex in expressions while Donnie and Mike aren't?

XDD Leo is complex because, well, he's very complex XDDD He's always thinking and running things through his head and assesing the situation. His mind runs a mile a minute all the time, so I always try to capture that thoughtfulness in him and then balance it out with the emotion he's feeling at the moment I'm drawing.
Raph as I said I need to focus more on because his responses to emotions and situations is different to all the others. Raph has a very specific way of expression himself which is what makes him Raph, and it's always important to try and show that.
Mikey is very easy for me because, in truth, I really know how his mind works I feel XDDD and I'm an eternal optomist myself who always looks on the bright side of things, enjoys life, and automatically love people before they give me a reason to avoid them. So I feel I have a pretty good idea how Mikey reacts and responds to things.
Donny is also a little easier because, well, first of all he's VERY much like my best friend who I've known for 10 years XDD only gentler and not as wacky. Donny has an innocence about him which is easy for me to portray, and he's very bright which I can relate to (I've been told all my life by people I'm a rather bright person XDDD) also, Don's just sweet which is always easy for me.

So basically he's analyzing everything at a mile a minute and his emotiuons are taciturn because of it huh? Well I always see that he's only thinking things through when he has too. That he's not a leader all the time if he was then he wouldn't be a brother if you get my meaning.
Raph is tough as he wants to say what he wants but he doesn't know how to show it and he gets annoyed that he wants to do what he feels is right but instead it awkward as he thinks it might be wrong what he's doing. Thats my take anyways.
Well, as you are a lot like Mikey it should be easy as all you have to do is put yourself in that situation and see how you would react then thats how Mikey would react but as you said Mkey is always happy and if Mikey cries theres a damn good reason why he is as he hardly ever cries.
Donnie though is I think a bit harder as he is more aware of his mutant form then the others. But he is the only one who shows outward affection toward those that aren't his brothers. Case i point is April. Well I modelled myself after Donnie so I hope I'm know what I'm talking about. XD And yes Don is sweet and very gentle as well. But his also very careful about how far he lets his emotions go as he has some deep seated ones that he wants to let out but keeps in check.

XDD I think it's harder if you're a boy and a girl. and probably hardest if you're two girls (I dunno, I have a brother not a sister). me and my brother get along great though, but he'd beat the crap out of me if I ever fell asleep ontop of him XDDD
