Confound these Minecraft ponies, they drive me to architectural addiction! >.<I kinda half-suspected that game would lure me away from Derpy for a while... but I finally broke free and worked on her with my full attention. ^___^

In any event, Derpy is my third favorite non-Mane6 pony, and everyone's favorite easter egg in Season 2. ^__^
Here she's demonstrating your usual run-of-the-mill pegasus hovering, and while the initial wing animation was done literally frame-by-frame (probably unnecessarily-so, but I'm rusty...
), her second wing is pretty much a clone of the first one + an inversion warp + a reposition + a dark overlay for the darker shade. Very big time savings there once the work is all done. ^^Definitely some room for improvement, though... the animation is only 26fps due to the peculiar way I did the wings using a single vector. Broken out between 3 or 4 different vectors, I can probably achieve a smoother look as well as the flexibility to export at higher frame rates without weird tween deformations.
But for now... enjoy this "derped" graphic. ^.^

Aw, this is so adorable... *squee* -Oh! Uhm... There's actually something I want to ask you and it's very important. I don't mean to sound a bit pushy when I ask you, but there's a big summer project for bronies who are good at animation, and we're in need of quite a lot of animators for an hour long movie based off of a very popular fan-fiction we're making (no, it's not cupcakes. It's Rated E, we swear). I'm not asking a lot from you, but I'd like to know if you'd maybe be interested in being an animator for the summer and join our growing animation team? If you're going to be busy with a bunch of other stuff, then you don't have to accept our offer. We're just a little desperate on finding decent animators out there, and you're definitely one we'd just love to have on the team. And thank you for actually taking the time to read this, I know many other people wouldn't. (:

Wow, that request sounds familiar... are you sure some other person from the team hasn't already contacted me a few months ago?
I do appreciate the consideration and I sure have a history of helping out multimedia projects such as these, and making ones of my own:

But that was all in the past, and these animated GIFs I made last year were just tests to see if I can bring over my expertise into the pony world. The test was a failure since I could never really get "into" it as much as I have with paper plushies and other arts and crafts, so it has been abandoned and I have not done an animated GIF in over six months.
To top it off, I didn't use Flash but rather Synfig to do the animation -- considering almost all other MLP animators use Flash, that would have created an incompatibility between us.
In short, I don't think I have the level of expertise or morale (as far as animation goes) to be of any use to your project, aside from the fact that yes I have tons of projects to finish before Bronycon.
However, I am open to answering questions in case you'd all like to learn on your own how to animate.
Sorry again if this is not the answer you were hoping for, but again I do appreciate the consideration. Had you asked me seven months ago back when I was fresh into the community, things might have turned out a little differently.

Well that particular FOSS project is oft-neglected, so I admit it's missing a heck of a lot of polish because it doesn't have a whole lot of support. This GIF was done in part to try to attract more attention to the project. ^^
