Description
Confound these Minecraft ponies, they drive me to architectural addiction! >.<I kinda half-suspected that game would lure me away from Derpy for a while... but I finally broke free and worked on her with my full attention. ^___^
*puts down pony skinning guide*
In any event, Derpy is my third favorite non-Mane6 pony, and everyone's favorite easter egg in Season 2. ^__^
Here she's demonstrating your usual run-of-the-mill pegasus hovering, and while the initial wing animation was done literally frame-by-frame (probably unnecessarily-so, but I'm rusty...
Definitely some room for improvement, though... the animation is only 26fps due to the peculiar way I did the wings using a single vector. Broken out between 3 or 4 different vectors, I can probably achieve a smoother look as well as the flexibility to export at higher frame rates without weird tween deformations.
But for now... enjoy this "derped" graphic. ^.^

hehe, well if you're hoping for animated stuff, you have to go elsewhere. These were just tests of mine, and not really what I was looking for (so I dropped the practice).
Of course there's no shortage of great pony artists and animators out there, so you'll get your art in no time. Good luck. ^^

You mean you'll create animation requests?

No I said I wasn't doing animation requests, but there are many other artists who would do it for you on the drop of the ball. ^^

Ah, sorry, ended my animation testing after Derpy. I'm into paper plushies now. ^^
I did make a lovely vector of Luna and Pipsqueak, though. I'll post it up after Bronycon. ^___^

Thank you very much. You can thank Studio B and Synfig for the animation though, since I couldn't have done it without those two. ^^
Also, I see you're a big Derpy fan too! Hope you'll check out my Derpy Paper Plushie, at least once I give her a proper photo session.

D: I clicked on this cause it was floating about another person's page.. and now I want to do that.. but I don't know how ^.^;
Still, good job!! I love it!

C-quel In reply to NewMclovin [2012-05-24 00:11:25 +0000 UTC]
Thank you. ^^
Well, only a "good job" for the animation, cause I didn't write the floating script -- and the only reason I'll admit the animation is good is because it's based off of real animation from the show (which we all know is awesome).
If you want to know how to do the floating thing, though, check this journal out:

Didn't know anyone was able to do that, until the script writer wrote to me and directed me here:

I don't need a premium, it work on free too.
Also can I use your derpy into my profile?
Sorry I was want to try out before ask your permission. I can change if you say no.
Sorry for grammar.

C-quel In reply to SpiderZed [2012-05-24 01:17:49 +0000 UTC]
Ah, that's even better to know. Might try that to myself.
Of course you can use the Derpy, the description above is covered in signs that allow you to use the artwork. ^^
[and that Creative Commons license on the right side gives you permission to use it without asking for permission, only credit] ^^
If you want to modify it, you can even use the source file to make your own variants of floating Derpy.
I'm all about sharing, especially for art that doesn't technically belong to me (you know,...really belongs to Hasbro and Studio B).

Hey C-quel, I wrote a Journal Entry using your Floating Derpy as example...the word seems to spread quite quickly

C-quel In reply to Aquarior [2012-05-24 00:03:34 +0000 UTC]
haha, indeed it does. Thank you for that, I didn't know it was possible to have such an extensive level of javascript eyecandy on these profile pages. I know someone who will go totally nuts ponifying her own page. ^^
Also glad you liked the Floating Derpy enough to use her as an example. She was only a test animation really, so I've neglected her a bit in favour for more artsy-craftsy stuff. I'm still amazed by the viewership that my animated GIFs pull even after all these months (and despite these not being 100% original).
Now I'm glad I made these TRANSPARENT GIFs.
