Confound these Minecraft ponies, they drive me to architectural addiction! >.<I kinda half-suspected that game would lure me away from Derpy for a while... but I finally broke free and worked on her with my full attention. ^___^

In any event, Derpy is my third favorite non-Mane6 pony, and everyone's favorite easter egg in Season 2. ^__^
Here she's demonstrating your usual run-of-the-mill pegasus hovering, and while the initial wing animation was done literally frame-by-frame (probably unnecessarily-so, but I'm rusty...
), her second wing is pretty much a clone of the first one + an inversion warp + a reposition + a dark overlay for the darker shade. Very big time savings there once the work is all done. ^^Definitely some room for improvement, though... the animation is only 26fps due to the peculiar way I did the wings using a single vector. Broken out between 3 or 4 different vectors, I can probably achieve a smoother look as well as the flexibility to export at higher frame rates without weird tween deformations.
But for now... enjoy this "derped" graphic. ^.^

Oh, there's about a gajillion other Derpy animations out there, some way better quality than this. You'll be fine, dude.
Besides, this was never an original piece to begin with (that's why it's has "Test" in the title), and doesn't make me money either (whereas arts and crafts does, surprisingly-enough).

It's actually just a recreation of the flying animation in the show, so really more credit should go to the animators for making such fluid flapping animation to begin with. ^^

It's mainly traced off a generic flying animation from the show, so you could say it's thanks to Studio B/Top Draw that this is very cool to begin with.

Oh sorry, as a matter of principle I generally only accept commissions for physical products (such as my pony piΓ±atas, and since I'm still developing that trade nothing's on sale yet). ^^
I always make my digital artwork for free, and even provide the source for sharing and learning purposes. ^__^

Oh no, real ones for sure... I used to be really good at making ornamental piΓ±atas, and after the last Bronycon I got inspired to restart my efforts... this time more on a mass-production scale. ^^

That's why I'll make ornamental piΓ±atas instead, which are not designed to be hit (but can still have candy inside through a clever mechanism). ^^
Plus I have some building methods to make them super strong anyway, so even if a miscreant troll DID get his hands on one, breaking it would be no small feat.

haha! You can use any of my works licensed with Creative Commons... it's just that few people are aware of how that works, so I figured I'd just come out and spell it out.
After all, I didn't create the My Little Pony characters, so I'm in no position to horde them jealously or something. Especially when sharing is such a big thing in the story.

It's a really great animation, nice job! The only thing I would note is that while the animation is smooth at the highest point, at the lowest point it sort of "bounces". It might look better with easing on both ends. You might also want to make the leg/tail animation independent from the up/down hovering (just delay it by half a second) so that they loop at different times.

Actually don't forget this is a GIF, so all the frames are bitmaps now, meaning any extra frames to account for the independent animation movements will increase the file size as well. Don't want people with poor connections to suffer, but I see what you mean. ^^

Nice, but I think it looks a little off. Her up and down motion doesn't seem to link with the motion of her wings... Remember, wings push down air to create lift, so really she should be going up when her wings go down. Still, beautiful animation, and so smooth! Plus, I'm biased towards anything Derpy. ^3^
