Description
Due to popular demand, I have released this script without first putting it through Beta testing. Here are some of my suggestions to get good results with the script:
- transform 2 controls the main shape of the fractal, rotating and resizing this transform will help (but don't make it too big), but moving this transform often easily destroys any progress you've had (keep this generally close to the origin)
- experiment with post-transforms of transform 2, these will also change the whole fractal, try anything and everything you can think of with this post transform
- transform 3 controls the extra detailing (selecting 'clean' in the opening pop-up eliminates this transform) of the fractal. If you are having trouble with 'ghosting' or a lack of clarity, I suggest scaling down this transform, doing this should clear things up significantly. You can also move and rotate transform 3 around, this will only change the detailing and not the main shape.
- a post-transform of transform 3 will only effect the detailing, again just experiment with this if you choose
That about sums it up! Enjoy!

I've never used a script before
How do you do it? Is there a tutorial somewhere on this?

The script is for a program called Apophysis.

Yes, I have the program but how do you use a script in it? I'm very new to it

When you download it place it in the scripts folder, then it will be available from within the program.

You just need to hit the download button beside the preview image. Once downloaded un-zip the file and place the script in your Apo script folder. Hope this answers your question! Just search for whirlpool in my gallery, and do the smae to get it)

I would love to try to run this script Tom, but in all my different versions of apo i keep getting an
unknown identifier or variable in nodeclared:"Calculate colors". Source position 63,15
any chance you know what this means?

CabinTom In reply to TSHansen [2007-06-17 05:29:24 +0000 UTC]
Yep! It means the path you have set in 'options' that points to 'functions.asc' is incorrect (or you might not even have the functions.asc file). You can easily correct this by typing in the correct file location in the box next to "Function Library". Alternatively, you can open up the script in the script editor, go down to the bottom of the script and delete the line that says: CalculateColors . But if you do do this second 'fix' any script that uses the CalculateColors function will not work... well unless you delete that line for those scripts as well.
