A 5 panel comic featuring Piter de Vries from Dune
Panel 1:
Piter is trying a door handle and thinking to himself, “Locked, of course...”
He’s wearing red and holding a long knife.
Panel 2:
‘Piter’ (’Red’) is looking behind him, at two clones of himself. One is dressed in yellow, the other is dressed in green. They are in varying stages of waking up. ‘Yellow’ is holding a crumpled piece of paper, and ‘Green’ is wearing a belt with a pouch. The room is mostly bare except for a box and a broom.
Red (thinking): The three of us are undoubtedly clones of the same person... Which makes them expert, ruthless tacticians... and killers... I should kill them before they’ve fully woken up. While I have the chance.
Panel 3:
The original Piter is relaxing at a desk with a wine glass filled with something dark red. His blue jacket is hanging on the back of his chair, and he’s wearing a white renaissance style shirt. There’s a radio sitting on the desk.
Piter (thinking): I think Red, especially, will think to kill the others before they get a chance to discuss the situation. But I think he’ll see clear intention behind the color coding. I think he’ll notice that he has a weapon, Yellow has a note, and Green has a shield, and I think it will bother him that he doesn’t know why. Why are they here? Who is, or was, ‘Blue’? Do the others know something?
Panel 4:
Red is standing between the other clones and the locked door with the knife. His head is obscured by a thought balloon, showing both his thoughts and the original Piter’s: “Don’t expect a mentat to make an accurate calculation from incomplete information.” It is a pillar of our training.
Panel 5:
A close up of the radio.
Piter (thinking): Oh, excellent. If it hasn’t started beeping now, it probably won’t for a while. I don’t need deaths at this stage. I WANT that schematic. Anyways. Back to work.
