Like I said in my last (and also first) deviation in this new account: my self insert persona uses a power armor called The Cadabra Suit. Summed up, it's your standard cliched robotic power armor that is armed to the teeth with tools, gadgets and other things any hero worth their salt would need in a rescue mission.

So much so that the original name for the suit was The G.I.Z.M.O. Suit, short for "Garment Installed with a Zillion Mechanical Options".

One frequently asked question I got from friends was why did the suit have a magician's theme, what with the top hat, suit, bowtie, cane, cape and the fact that the name is obviously short for "Abracadabra". Originally, the plan was that Ruben's technically was so advance that it might as well be magic, but that's a lot more vague than you might think. Nowdays, it's suppose to be a clever take on actual magicians. We may look at magicians as people who can do the impossible, but in reality, magicians are just normal everyday people with tricks up their sleeves. And that's all Ruben is; a normal person with tricks up his sleeves.

And I started doing sketches of the Cadabra Suit's abilities by focusing on the arm gadgets to show that Ruben has tricks up his sleeves in a manner that is a lot more literally than most magicians...Mostly.

Ok, yeah, a lot of these tools started out as coming out of Ruben's sleeves and straightening up in a way that shows them being right in his hands. But, eventually, I moved onto having his whole forearm of the suit turning into the tool. I most likely went that path because I couldn't think of a design for that chainsaw tool in a way that didn't look like Ruben's actual hand was dangerously close to the spinning blades. On a side note, some of my closest friends probably remember that I went through a phase where I couldn't decided on whether Ruben was going to be a guy in a robot suit or an actual cyborg. I eventually went with suit, but I had a lot of these arm gadgets recycled from the old cyborg design. The main reason why I originally dumped them with the whole cyborg idea is because I thought the whole "arm turns into a tool" thing was only possible with cyborgs and robots in general and couldn't be possible with a guy in a suit.

Then I watched that one scene from the Purge episode of Rick & Morty, and I thought "Well, never--f*cking--mind, then!".

Believe it or not, a lot of these tools were things I was going to use in a sketching project that I did a few months ago but never uploaded. I might upload it soon enough. I don't want to spoil what the project was about, but I'll hint by saying that if I said the title of a certain show I like, you'd get a good idea of what it was.
