[So I'm submitting this at the worst possible hour: when the servers are flooded and my picture won't show up on my DA page until sometime tomorrow. Anyway, I can't be arsed to wait, 'cause I need to sleep real bad. ]------
Somehow the Hatter got some of the Queen's pawns/soldiers mixed in with his bread & butter. :/ Not exactly the taste he had been expecting. Mmm, cardboard.
I found a funny note in the back of my Alice in Wonderland book about the Mad Hatter: "Hatter: considered proverbially mad. Hatters could suffer from hallucinations and related afflictions as a result of mercury poisoning contracted in the course of their work."
So, there you have it! I found it funny/interesting at least. ^^

Trying out a new colouring technique, which was a positive experience. This is somewhere closer to where I want to go with my art... some of my art, mind you.
Also, I managed to draw natural looking hair! Yay to me! What you do think? (full-view if you can't tell) I think he looks fluffy and cuddly... in his own wrinkly way... eww. Nevermind.

Time taken: About 6 hours to colour.

congrats, specially, for a few things: the cat, the cup (some of its liquid is almost spilled, you done that effect perfect), the mode he's holding the teacup - so like him - the hair [wow, the grays are almost real *woot*]

Haha. I'm glad you like it though! Yes, it's a bit more dark, and a little bit more realistic. However, I don't see myself turning to 100% realistic pictures... my style is too weird to become too realistic. :S

Yeah, at some point it stops being beautiful and starts being silly in a way... I do admire those artists who can draw 99.9% realistically, but in my opinion there needs to be some "magic" to those kind of images. Or you might as well have taken a picture.

Hehe, thanks. ^^ I had a spur of inspiration a couple of months ago, and now it seems that each piece I do only inspires me further. I hope I never get off this wave. Each time you take long breaks between being artistic, your talent decays a bit and you need to refresh some things from the start again... so it's important to keep going.
I hope you can find your inspiration again.

oO;; Funny how you discover something is lethal several years after you've been working with it daily... reminds me of the Geishas in the old world. The stuff they used to whiten their faces contained mercury, so most of them died before they grew old.
We'll probably die of something like that as well... Finding out in 30 years that the shampoo we have been using all our lives is deadly. :/

Yeah, it's like that with a lot of things.

Other scientist, 1 month later: "An egg per day helps prevent cancer!"
Scientist #1: "Eggs will kill your children... and your dog."
Scientist #3: "Dogs don't eat eggs."
Scientist#1: "Damn. ... ... ...Anyone have a job opening?"
And so on.
