This is my entry to the #StarWars4ever: Sith contest. I decided to plunge the cute and cuddly Wicket deep into the Dark Side. The effects of which warped his features and turned his fur white!Related content

It was both fun and funny, Kevin. *smile* I just couldn't resist the contrast between cute/fuzzy and evil/vicious. To me the Ewok is a naturally interesting character to turn to the Dark Side.

The idea is simply fantastic. I mean terribly evil ewoks!!!???? Wow!^^
Never seen or heard of before!
(well not entierly): The very first times I saw Episode VI I was a little kid, and Wicket appearing and poking Leia made me terribly worried for Leia. I had the impression that he was some scary, savage creature... Luckily the ewoks turned out to be relativly nice. There's still the scene where the capture Luke and Han and Chewie in a net and stuff. And then they kill stormtroopers pretty effectively. So indeed, ewoks are not as harmless as they look, never underestimate them.
Now imagine EVIL ewoks, SITH ewoks: a hundred times scarier and even more deadly. Kinda a mind blowing concept, and you visualised it so fantastically.
The artwork is wonderfully detailed and the persepctive is awesome, though a bit confusing at the beginning. It took me a while to realise that he's actually jumping down and not looking up.
Also, the contrast is perfect: white fur-red/black sith markings. And awesome weapon design!

I had a lot of fun with the StarWars4ever Contest, Vala. It's the first contest I've entered here on DA. The Sith-conversion idea was a great choice for a contest challenge, and I think the turn-out was pretty good. I tried my best to get my concept finished and submitted as far from the October 31st deadline as possible. My hope was that the sight of a Sith Ewok would spur other artists to think outside-the-box with their submissions. It is extremely important for an artist to push the boundaries of his/her imagination. Striving...twisting...expanding! Imagine a lightsaber duel between Yoda and Dart Wicket. A whirling, spinning, DIZZYING slash-fest of those two diminuative pugs would be spectacular!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. We admins of #StarWars4Ever try to entertain and inspire our members. Therefore we hold contests that are about creativity. We want to challenge artists to create something new and unique out of something familiar from the Star Wars universe.
So you totally got the spirit of this contest!

You have him leaping, attacking the viewer from the trees! Very dramatic Very cool.
Just had a thought though... is he a he? Could be a she for all I know. Should-ah called this Ewak an it. Or would that offend him/her? Ah, no time to be polite now, it's evil and attacking me form the trees! This will be the last time I go for a walk in the woods on Endor!
Just had another thought... Did it shave itself or did a Sith master do it to apply those freaky tattoos? Does it have to keep shaving? Wanna track down this evil little bugger, find the empty cans of Barbasol. Yeah, your right, I should really stop having thoughts. Just makes me look bad.

Hooooo-boy *shaking head* I knew it was coming and you STILL managed to crack me up! Thought I was prepared...but no. Made no difference. Anyway...every point you mention...actually crossed my mind as I developed the idea of a Sith-ized Ewok. Leave it to you, Blaine, to give voice to my hidden geek. *smile* I believe Wicket is a male...but who really knows? Lucas? Does that mean he checked? I assume that Wicket's Sith Master had him shaved...and waxed. One of those terribly PAINFUL wax-jobs. Toughen the little bugger! And since those tatts are expensive, one doesn't want them hidden by unsightly body hair...so regular waxings are essential. Which makes this guy even more pissed! And let's not forget the inference that the Ewoks are cannibalistic. *shudder* Don't sit under that apple tree!

Dog gone it, My jester-e-ness precedes me. I really mean no disrespect! You know that I find your illustrations incredible.
It brings me joy to know that you think of these kind of things as you put the illustration together.
My initial response to the image was pretty much the same is everybody else. Wow that's amazing, and freaky. Oh, I wish you hadn't told me he was a cannibal. 
Ewok's are supposed to be innocent and pure.
And really good at constructing large wooden death-traps for crushing robotic walkers at short notice.

Hmmm. I've been thinking about the whole cannibalistic Ewok thing. Kind of a misconception. While it's true that it's suggested the Ewoks were preparing to eat Han, Luke, and Chewie...that in-and-of itself does not make them cannibals. Just...carnivores. As far as I know...there is no hint that they ate other Ewoks. It IS an easy extrapolation, however, to link the eating of other sentient bipedals...with the consuming of your own kind. Either way...MY Sith Wicket....is definitely a cannibal! BooYah!

Lacey got creeped! *hee hee* They didn't creep me out as much as they disappointed me. The Ewoks literally look like crepe-hair suits. Like kids in homemade Halloween costumes. Cutesy...and saggy. They deserve some coolification!

Am I the only nerd that remembers that they were cannibals? They were planning a barbeque with Han Solo and Luke until they were stopped by what they thought was a gold god--C3PO. So much for the cute teddy bear image after that!

Ssshhhh. Not so loud! Lacey...nobody wants to face the fact that the Ewoks weren't as cuddly as they look. *smile* I was certainly aware and mindful of the suggestion of the cannibalistic nature of the Ewoks...but it's a vague suggestion in 'Jedi'...and was quickly buried in subsequent depictions. Doesn't make them any less saggy...but it does ease my disappointment a tad. One thing is for sure...the idea of a CANNIBAL Sith...is even more creepy than you initially thought. Sweet dreams!

I've never seen a Sith Ewok, but this is definitely a first! It looks a little like Bigfoot. But it's an Ewok with Sith tattoos. The execution was splendid!
