"Do you know what they're on about?"
"No. Maybe they're crazy."

You're spot-on with that idea, Chris. Glad to see the concept is clear. Such is the challenge of one-shot illustrations!

Maybe the best one you did - in my view - is from the 'Scouts' book. The soggy, freezing explorer in his tent, chewing on a ration bar, looking out at the months-long monsoon he's living in.

No blasters, droids, or stormtroopers involved, but it's a perfect snapshot.

I know the image to which you refer, Chris. I remember trying to imagine what it would be like to live the life of a pioneer. It's the idea of all that isolation that made the strongest impact on me.

Another one you did for the 'Scouts' book I love is the alien prospector in the vac-suit. The crazy old coot who hasn't lost his mind from all the loneliness. No sir, hee hee, he hasn't gone nuts...

Old coot prospector...old coot...hmmm. Is that the one with the droid-mule in the background?

It's been a while since I looked in the book, but the image I'm thinking of is the guy in the vac-suit, handling a drill, and underlit. It's for one of the pre-gen character templates, so it may have been cropped down to fit a tall, narrow space. The whole feel is that of a guy who's spent WAY too long alone in the backwoods. Or back-planet.

This one always made me chuckle. The aliens are like "What's wrong with these people?" lol

That is a spot-on interpretation of this scene, Rob. I saw the opportunity to inject some humor...and went with it!

"It's fun to stay at the Y...M...C...A..."

Sorry. It's an excellent illustration as usual.
