here we have the edited version; I went back and gave her a bit more definition and shading, especially around the boobs and on the wings. I also darkened her stripes to their proper color and fixed the inking on her hand. I can't believe how awkward I was with the colored pencils after 4 months of disuse!thank you all so much for your feedback and suggestions on this piece! you really have no idea how much I apprecaite it!

Caishide as a taur. this disproves my theory that complex = good. you can't even tell where one set of wings begins and the other ends! egh. to make it easier for you, i'll attempt to explain...
normal anthro Caishide and feral Caishide both have 2 sets of wings: 2 large wings and 2 small wings. taur Caishide has 2 sets on her anthro back AND 2 sets on her feral back. that's 8 wings. confusing, no?
this has got to be the first completely prismacolor pencil colored image i've done in about 4 months. be proud of me.

Awesome!! Just that little bit of shading really brings it out!! And I know just how hard it is to get good criticism these days which is why I always try to give any suggestions I can think of

well, as i replied to sCK, i am a mostly dark artist; this just happens to be one of my rare light pieces. i have so many dark characters and i hardly ever draw the pure inspiration that is Caishide, which is part of the reason i like this piece so much. it's a big change.

i am too, really, but i have so many " dark" type characters and only one really innocent "light" inspirational character that i had to draw her, since i have been neglecting her lately. if you truly like my style, i'm sure there are several dark pieces in my gallery you would enjoy

hmm... it looks really nice
and the fact that it's hand colored is a definate + (me being too lazy to hand color it)
the only problem i see would be the lack of shadows... especially her right back leg... that should be a bit darker then other part of body...

you're right! i hadn't even noticed because i was too engrossed in the overall coloring. i remembered hilights but completely left out the lower shadowing. rgh.

if u have any decent computer drawing program, u should be able to add shadows using layer technique really quickly... and if ur interested in the idea of layer but don't know how, just send me a note or IM me at kishi809 and i'll be grad to help

well, i can always open it in photoshop and use the burn tool for shadowing. i'm not really sure how a layer would help, unless you are suggesting opening a layer on top and manually putting darker colors over the picture. i know how to use layers, i'm just not sure what technique you are suggesting. thank you so much for this help, though!

yea, put a new layer on top... then put darker color(black or dark grey)... the modify the opacity of the layer so it'll look like nice shadows

very there arent many people left who still color by hand so thats definatley a plus ^_^ i like the fur it looks really detailed and the colors blend really well

Ooooh! THOSE WINGS ARE THE BEST! They remind me of mermaids and fish...So, so elegant. The anatomy is nice...And your way of drawing stripes is very pretty and swirly. She has such beautiful colors!

aww, thank you! purple and turquoise used to be my signature colors waaaaaaaaaay back in lower school, and i still love that combination. and it took me FOREVER to settle on a wing design i liked. glad to hear someone else likes them too

As the first one, it's simply georgeous, and now that it has more defination and detail, it makes it all the more beautiful
