Description
this was another color experiment, this time featuring Caishide. i tried a new pattern for her stripes since there is no set design for them.the smoke in the background was alot of fun to do, and while the wings were the most challenging part, they're my favorite.
fun facts: the original image is twice the fullview size, and this image got transfered onto my birthday cake in october (it's a little old).
since Caishide is my oldest and most important character, i'm a bit extra protective of her. i decided against putting a big ugly watermark over the picture since i want you to be able to see the details, but i swear to god if this gets reposted i will claw your eyes out.
fullviewing is strongly reccommended.

I've been meaning to comment on this for days but haven't had a chance, but now I'm blowing off my research paper and studying to look at art so here we go! >3
First off: This is aboslutely AMAZING Caishy! The art you've been doing recently has been so full of new stuff you've been trying, and it's so beautiful.
I adore how cute she is, but the DETAILS are what amaze me! I like how you did her stripe pattern differently, and how it sorta makes a heart in the middle of her back.
The wings are absolutely beautiful and I have no clue how the hell you did that transparent thing. They look so delicate, so transluscent! And the texture to them is wonderful! The way you can see the smaller wings in front of the bigger ones, with the arms in front of them is so smoothly done!
I love her paws and her FEETS you just draw such awesome feets ok. And her face is just the cutest little thing ever. I love the background too and how the bits of blue fade into the background. And again, the LIGHTING is so very wonderful!!

i used about maybe 5 layers total for the wings: the small set's stalks, the small set's webbing (set on a lower opacity), the large set's stalks, and the large set's webbing (also on a lowered opacity) with a hilight layer on top of it all. it was a pain in the ass but SO worth it. i had to dick around with the opacity levels alot to make sure everything was just perfect, and of course when you make something transparent its color changes, so i was like AUGH.
i wish i could just tack those wings on every Caishide drawing from now on
and i'm glad you like her paws! i wasn't too sure about them so that makes me happy

The coloring on the wings is fantastic. Not to mention the Caishy herself makes me want to tear my own molars out. Owwwww its so sweet it gives me toothrot. This is a fact. Caishisde is one of the only characters I never need a ref sheet for because her design is so fucking good. It sticks in my mind like THAT *snap*
