Description
Good ol' Wile E. Coyote (Canis Tenacius) is back at his age-old pursuit of his chosen cuisine (Supersonicus Delectiblus) yet again, with doubtlessly similar painful results awaiting him... Done up for a "Spring" Art contest related to Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem. (Decent game; if you play, drop me a line and you can join the Alliance I run.)
I don't typically do art contests, (too much work for no guarantee of payoff) but it was an excuse to do an updated picture of these two, since my old one is over 5 years old now... Yeeesh! It also gave me the opportunity to play around with wonky angles and a more dynamic perspective, because apparently I like torturing myself like that.
Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner are, obviously, copyright © Warner Bros. (Notus Disnius) and suuuper-genius Chuck Jones (Creativus Legendarii) *Beep, beep!*

I foresee a rock wall in your immediate future, Mr. Coyote.

Too bad he never has that foresight.

In an ever-changing and uncertain world, Wile E. Coyote is a beacon of consistency. Consistent failure, sure... But consistent nonetheless...
Thanks, it was fun doing something a bit more dynamic with this.

It's certainly pretty cool seeing you've drawn these two again.

Thanks, the old one was nice, but very simple. I wanted to capture more of the frenetic high-speed hi-jinks from the cartoons in this one.

Hehe, looks like Wile might succeed this time... if it wasn't for that rock wall directly in front of him!
(We can't see it from this angle, but the road takes a sharp right at a steep precipice just a few yards ahead!)

But of course... There's no way this doesn't end with him face-planting into something.

Naturally... or the inevitable 1,000 ft plummet away from the camera...

Well, that still ends with a face-plant... Into the canyon floor. 😛

Excellent work on this!
Also, have you seen the trailer for the new Looney Tunes on on HBO Max? What do you think of it?

Thank you!
And yep, I've seen the HBO trailer. I've actually been following the project since back when it was first announced. I like that they're trying to return more to the original character designs, but to be honest I think they went back a little too far; basing them more on the proto-designs of the characters rather than the fully-developed designs the characters ultimately evolved and settled into. It's particularly obvious that's what they were going for when you see Bugs' yellow gloves (which I honestly don't care for, and it's something they originally did away with fairly quickly, for good reason.) There's also a bit of Kricfalusi-esqueness to the animation that I don't care for either. (I never liked his "ugly-exaggeration" technique.) All that being said, though, I do think it's overall a step in the right direction, and looks far more promising than their other recent attempts.
I still just miss the days of maintaining consistency and not trying to reinvent the wheel with every new project... *le sigh*...

So do I. That's why I still like the Walt Disney Television of the 90s/early 2000s vs some of their current reboots and redesigns.

Oh, definitely! The MouseWorks/House of Mouse shorts for example are leagues superior to the new Mickey Mouse junk by a landslide. Some of those shorts even slot in quite nicely right next to the originals, which is saying a lot.
