Yay, new story!
Question: did you have a specific tune in mind? I noticed little music notes around the narration.

Have you never seen "Gilligan's Island" ? If you haven't, you really should.
But yeah, the narration is a parody of the theme song, which is generally pretty well-known.

Yeah, I've seen Gilligan's Island. Very cringeworthy show. Good theme though.

I liked Gilligan's Island... I remember staying up late and watching it at my cousin's house back when they had a block of old shows they ran in the middle of the night... Good times...

That's probably the reason right there. I saw it when I was older (teens maybe?) and I was really bothered by the depictions of the native islanders. Shuddering just thinking about it! I think the old timey show I loved most as a kid was probably Bewitched. I kept trying her nose twitching trick but nothing magic ever happened. My current favorite... probably I Love Lucy or Jack Benny.

Hmm... I don't think I ever saw any episodes with islanders. I must admit I didn't see all of them by any stretch, so I probably missed those. I only ever remember the castaways being the only people there.
As for the nose trick, I consider it magic if you can just do it, even if it doesn't make magic things happen. Most people can't. I seem to remember hearing somewhere that it was a quirk of Elizabeth Montgomery's, and they decided to use it.

Maybe it was SO cringeworthy that your psyche was forced to suppress it.
That's so neat about the nose thing. I like it when tv shows use the weird quirky talents of their stars.

Yep, it's the little things like that that tell you how much thought and care they put into some shows.

Quite the way to start this off, indeed. Nicely done on the action here, and those humourous lyrics just add to it.

Thanks! I thought the obvious parody song would be a nice way to kick it off. It's kind of hard to do a song in comic form, but I'm glad people still got the reference.

Let the adventure on 'Not Gilligan's Island' begin.

You could call it "Calamity's Island", which actually kind of works on multiple levels...

I dunno... It almost seems too obvious, though...
