That's not really saying much...
I'm glad you appreciate the lighting, though; it took me about twice as long to do this strip because of it, but I felt like the firelight was important to the "tribal council" motif I was going for. I also thought the cut to Spalding as if he was voting, but really just sitting there because he's a coconut, helped to punctuate the silliness of it all.

Though we might see smoke signals, it will be interesting and fun to see how Calamity and the guys plain to shift the tree from it's roots. (That should take a long while to do that as well

Calamity, being the rugged outdoorsman that he is, likely has a knife. Not really enough to chop down a tree or carve a dugout canoe, granted, but still enough to make it more feasible.

Male kangaroos don't have pouches in reality, but this is a cartoon, and most kangaroos in cartoons have pouches regardless of gender. Also, being a cartoon, he can produce random things from behind his back as well. Suffice it to say he has his means.
