Description
Well, here is another post for my otherworld series concepts. These are the numbers of the Otherworldy Language, it's a simple structure, now I will explain below.Numbers zero through nine are pronounced as such (sey, nee, suk, joy, lan, zu, kəat, fin, qeenə, and noma), respectively. For numbers greater than nine, pronunciation is a little more involved. While, if you wanted to say ten, you could say "nee'sey" and it wouldn't be incorrect, but for sake are clear conversation, the basic rules of the number structure is that all numbers are broken up into "brackets" of one-hundred (zero through ninety-nine), so proper pronunciation would have to include explaining which bracket of hundred the number belongs to.
Example -> 1,234 in English is "one thousand, two hundred and thirty-four" in the otherworldly language it is "nee'suk deku nee joy'lan deku sey"
in explanation it mean "one, two, first hundred; three, four, zeroth hundred"
other example -> "one" is "nee deku sey" or "one zeroth hundred"
example three -> "one hundred eleven" is "nee deku nee nee'nee deku sey" or "one first hundred, eleven zeroth hundred"
for larger example -> 123,456,789 is "nee deku lan suk'joy deku joy lan'zu deku suk kəat'fin deku nee qeenə'noma deku sey"
Yes, it is a mouthful, but this is how you do it. In English 123,456,789 is "one-hundred twenty-three million, four-hundred fifty-six thousand, seven-hundred eighty-nine" that's twenty-four syllables, in the Otherworldly language it is only twenty-six... only two more syllables, so not much difference. In English, the breakdown is every thousand, in Japanese it is every ten-thousand, so I decided to make the breakdown every hundred instead.
On another note, while you do need to pronounce the "sey" in "01" "03" etc. or "10" "30" etc. you do not how to pronounce "sey" if it is double in its own hundred bracket
Example -> you do not need to say "sey'sey deku sey" in 100 "nee deku nee" or "sey'sey deku nee" in 10,011 as it is implied with just "nee deku suk nee'nee deku sey", but you do have to say "sey'nee deku sey" in 101 for a full "nee deku sey sey'nee deku sey".
Of course, this is for pronunciation and if you wanted to write out the actual words instead of just using the language's internal number structure.
