Summary: Game had returned to Taikan lands, and Arlen had fallen into a routine of picking them off one by one, each night. The chase was becoming rote to him, almost too routine, boring. It could only lead to careless errors, he knew. But that wasn't enough to snap him from it. Whether or not he hunted with another wolf was beside the point, as the shadows drove him on, propelling him from successful kill to successful kill before leaving him drained, exhausted, almost too weak to move. If this was the pinnacle of his power, it was more than enough.
