AC: Although famine has been largely averted, the winter has proven a difficult one. The scarcity of prey leads Arlen to venture further and further into the freelands. After several days without so much as a hare, he happens upon a fox. Despite its wirey frame and rapid flight, the wolf's hunger is enough to render it a fine meal, and he gives chase across the snow-blanketed plains. [67 words]
