Annnnnd that's where I was getting with those "paintings". Adventure! Comedy! (...yeah, not so much) Nostalgia! Fan service! (...!)Lacks explosions, though.
I might work on a better version later.

Haha thanks, and I agree! The last panel was supposed to be closer to the show style, but I'm not too good at it, lol... I think I rushed it too, I was a bit too excited to make a DA account and have something to post on it.
About the overdone rear ends... hmm my excuse is gonna be that the muscles are contracted, and AJ does a lot of exercise! Also I think I was trying to go for Brom's style, or some other fantasy illustrator that makes everyone look pretty musular and sometimes oily.

The FiM mane cast vs Tierak the Terrible? Bravo! Here's hoping that it inspires some fanfics. "You wanna bring about the night that never ends? How un-oiriginal, Nightmare Moon tried that last Summer sun Celebration."

Not sure, but I think I've heard of at least one fic of the FiM cast vs Tirak (or however it's written... I've seen so many spellings 
About a better version... I'm not sure where I intended to begin when I said that, I suppose the characters and scenery in the bottom. I think I said that so whoever faved wouldn't be upset if it changed a bit.
These days I've been working on a lot of other stuff, but a revamp of this would be cool.

But yeah, the part about being slow with ideas can be a bitch. I've seen a lot of occasions that made me wanna go shout "DAMMIT, I thought of that first!" Sometimes the same idea can work in a very different way due to the artist's interpretation.

I've only watched it recently (like, in the end of last year), thanks to the MLP veterans who were actually enjoying FiM, too. I'd have been about that age when (and if) it got translated, too. It has some of that unique 80s fantasy movie/cartoon feel, that ages so well.

I like the current, cartoony ones better, too... though you gotta value the animators if they gave those almost-horse faces some expression.
There's an artist called Noel who draws them pretty horse-like, but they end up being some of the best I've seen, really beautiful. Hopefully she'll make a DA soon so you can see it.

Oh, this. I can't say a lot, because I haven't watched much, but maybe they were trying too hard to "appeal to girls" with pink all over the place.
By the way, you probably saw it already, but in my gallery there's a version of the same scene with the characters swapped for the FiM counterparts. It just had to be done.
