Description
Er...Text: (co) to Bryan Davis, 2004, The Candlestone.
Imagary: owned by Tiffany M., 2006, in as much ownership as I can claim as artist.
There was no copywrite infringement. I asked Bryan Davis, the author of the book from which Merlin's Riddle (Dragons in our Midst: The Candlestone) was taken from before I did this, and showed him the finished artwork before I did anything else with it. (he loved it tooβoh, yes, it helped my ego to have the author appreciate the artwork and ask if he could keep it)
Basically, it's my personal interpetation of what could've happened to bring about the text of the riddle in The Candlestone, which was never illustrated in the book, merely hinted at, and the poem brought about a lot of interesting imagery to my mind. I may carry on and illustrate the other poems, as long as I get approval from the author. This is the latter half of Merlin's Riddle (in the page)

Aye, Mr. Davis is great - I, too, have learned a ton from him. Are you on his message forum at all? If so, I'm Iluvhorses on there.

Thanks! And for the fav. I used to be on the message board but real life ate away my time as well as some real life problems that prevented me from getting onto the interent basically cut me away from message boarding for a very long time...
I was Tiana Calthye. I'm prettty sure I remember you, there were a few people with horses in their user names, and signatures, though.

Yeah... I was a mod once upon a time, of the ill-fated LotR RPG and the art board.

Yep! The art board's still there, in fact I posted in there some of the things I have posted here. All of the RPG forums are gone, now.
Thanks for the watch!!!

Nice to see fan art for this I loved the books! Bryan Davis is really nice, he came to my school once
The detail on this is beautiful! I love how shadowy it all looks!

Sweet. I'd love to redo it someday, and do it to look better... I actually contacted him and asked if I could do this, if I could make the picture... I have fond memories of him as an author, though I never finished the series, technically. It was awesome. He'd actually talk to me on the internet if I asked questions. Great guy, learned a lot from him.
I found there wasn't much good fanart and this section of the story really stood out to me, so I did this... I should someday see if I have the time to do another scene. Ah, someday, someday.
Thank you! And for the fav too!

Snrk--the author has a forum, and he posts on it. So, yeah, I "know" the author. I haven't been on the forum in ages, but I asked him if I could do this picture and then showed him once he was done. He's a really cool person.

Cool. I've read the four main books, but haven't gotten to reading the prequel one yet. The books got better, I think, as they went along.

XP... he's the admin of his site's forum, so yeah, I did talk with him. Sort of. But then, I'm intending on making an effort to publish a book, so it's probably a good thing I have contacts now. ^^
