Description
Mr. Jill, one of my budgies. He really grew up to be handsome! He is just over 2 years old now.EDIT: Mr. Jill passed away in September 2009 while we were on vacation. This is the only really good photo I have of him - he loved the camera so much that his photos were often blurry. I had to hide behind the couch! You can purchase nice things from Zazzle with this photo on them - www.zazzle.com/purpleponyart . Over the years two pairs of sneakers featuring Mr. Jill sold - I find it amazing that out of billions of people on this planet, two of them are walking around with my budgie on their feet :-D

Iยดm sorry he passed away. I think if he loved the camera he was a friendly bird. The picture is beautiful-

Thank you so much. It's been many years and I still find blue feathers around the house. He was afraid of people but he was definitely friendly in his own budgie way. We had a fun game where he would flip the mirror if I poked it

When I sawย the thumbnail I thought that. What a handsome budgie man. Oh I'm sorry he passed away. Sounds like Bullet. She's hard to photograph for the opposite reason of most birds. Instead of running away she runs towards the camera.

I'll have to find some of Jill's funnier moments - I realized that I hadn't updated his photo. So hard to believe he and Moxie have been gone seven years or so. He was super cute as a baby and did grow up to be very handomse indeed, thank you

Great shot!
These dudes can live really long if kept in a good manner - ie good food and allowed outside etc
Most of my budgies made it past 10 years. 15 years is the record.

Thanks
The budgie that lives with my parents is 9 and shows no signs of slowing down. Our oldest was 10 or 11. He had a little too much exercise a few days before he died, otherwise I'm sure he would have lived longer.

I had this guy who fathered 5 budgies when he was 4 years old and his partner died when he was 6 - he remained a "widower" until he turned 11 - Budgie Psychology

Thanks, I never thought I would get a keepsake photo of him like this since he's such a goof. The black background is actually dark green. When the room is lit, it's a pretty medium green. I'm not sure why the previous owners chose it

This is great 'et budgie' capture. It could have been taken in the wild

Thanks
I'm not sure how Jill would do in the wild - it's not just his blue colour, but his constant screaming. He'd attract too much attention for sure!
