All he could hear was the rush of the river beside them, as he stared down at his leader, lying helpless right there while his brother stood over him, his claws unsheathed while he waited patiently for his brother to decide. "It's me or him, Brambleclaw," his brother breathed out, his eyes full of malice and dark amusement as the broad-shoulder tom lunged forward.

"Hawkfrost ... " Brambleclaw gurgled, swallowing the horror that rose in his throat as he tried again. "Hawkfrost, don't do this," he managed, after a moment, placing his paw atop of his brother's. The blue-eyed tom smirked at the ThunderClanner, a smug look on his face. The sun bled into the sky as it began it's slow descent beyond the horizon, painting the world in a vast array of colors.

"I knew it, you couldn't do it, you never could," the other brown tabby barked out, a brief look of disgust crossing his face as he slowly shook his head, dismissing the ThunderClanner's paw off of his own and unhooking his thorn sharp claws from the leader's back, who hissed in pain. Hawkfrost wrenched his paw back before kicking the ginger leader, which earned him a groan of guttural pain, causing Goldenflower's son to flinch.

"We could have ruled together, brother. Nobody could have stopped us; nobody to defeat us; nobody to tell us what's what." His brother's voice was almost as cold as the moon looked as it glistened overhead, painting the blood that spread across the ground with threads of silver. "Unstoppable, just you and me."

"No," Brambleclaw swallowed, his amber eyes hardening as he ground the words out. Hawkfrost looked disappointed for a moment and mildly surprised before giving a roll of his shoulders. He let his eyes raise to the other muscular tom's face with a smirk playing across his features, making him look demented. "Leave, Hawkfrost. And never come back, or next time, I swear ... I'll kill you." His voice wavered at the last bit but he raised his head, challenging the RiverClanner to his threat.

"Ooh, really, brother? Do you think you could actually live up to that promise?" His brother cackled, moving away from the dark ginger leader who seemed to sag into the grass that was stained with his blood, looking utterly defeated, despite Brambleclaw unable to actually see the ThunderClan leader's face. He was startled out of his thoughts by a tail that slithered between his legs and he let out a soft gasp of surprise and flinching, as if hit. "Hmm, looks like you don't want me to go." Brambleclaw's breath caught each time that his brother stroked with his tail, his vision fogging over, swaying subconsciously towards the touch.

He closed his amber eyes, gulping down air as the scent of fish and blood filled his nostrils as his brother practically sat on him, with the way he was curling around him. The brown tabby's eyes went unfocused and let out a growl of complaint when his brother's warmth left him, the cool night air making him shiver despite his shaggy fur. "Hawkfrost," he ground out, trying to focus on his brother before shaking his head, trying to rid himself of the shivers of pleasure before he felt a set of paws ease him onto the ground and a weight settled along his back. Brambleclaw submitted as Hawkfrost purred above him, letting clouds dot his vision and fog his mind, preparing himself for what was to come when a cough rose from his ginger leader who lay facedown in the ground. He was still alive and awake.

They both froze before the blue-eyed tom sighed and dismounted his brother -much to his displeasure- and eyed him warily. "I'll leave, but that doesn't mean I won't be back," he promised before streaking away, and Brambleclaw watched him until his tail disappeared into the shadows before turning to his head. As he unlocked him from the trap, he purposefully avoided his leader's gaze.

"..I'm not going to ask," Firestar murmured after a moment, blinking at him with a mix of emotions swirling in his green eyes, the air around them feeling awkward as he adjusted his injured limbs so that it didn't hurt him as much when they headed back to camp. "And you will not tell me. We will never speak of that again."

All that Brambleclaw could do was nod in agreement.
