because it was another one of those things where people just wouldn't stop talking about it and also I got exposed to the bad side of the fandom extremely early

oh no.
with a lot of the mainstream fandoms you just have to ... get into it afterwards. so you can avoid most of the crxp there. it might mean you'll miss out on a lot of things though.

I like certain things, like certain songs from the show or certain scenes or whatever that I've seen online, I'm just kinda scared to actually get into it, y'know? and also I tend to be really judgemental of kids shows
