UPD8: Some cosmetic changes but nothing noticeable. What I updated this for was to bring their st.ash fileΒ sta.sh/22f7ku8kulkt?edit=1 to light.
I'm having them share one because they're both in most of eachothers pictures anyways lol. I'll likely be doing the same for samos/kai and robin/amelia and others.
This file contains most of their pictures, their BIOS (which will be updated frequently) and a few other things like clothing references and the like.
In which I get to know my own characters on an almost uncomfortable level for my own reference and for other people (who I may commission or art trade)
I really like doing these but they take an eternity. I want to do one for two other pairs of weapon wielders and their mages but those will take just as long as thiiiis did. They aren't even part of a comic or anything like that yet so idk the real point of this but it was fun and I suppose that's all the reason I need.
I'm in the process of making a stash file for these two and it'll have looooong written bios to go with it. *feigned audience cheering*

seriously tempted to draw these guys too woop their designs are honestly so solid, I like how mattheus has more squarular shapes and you can instantly tell he's a more grounded guy, while Kassian is all triangular and stuff and is sharp and pointy personality-wise tooΒ Β

Wow, thank you! I like to over-achieve in the most unnecessary of ways, haha! I'm glad it does, though! It was a huge help and a great way to really get in the nitty gritty details that I normally wouldn't think about.

I barely know the ways of bodyhair, myself! I was just "??? body hair grows this way, right???" haha! I don't really draw body hair on my characters because I always forget to do it! whoopsie doopsie!

I reblogged this on tumblr already, but I really want to comment here to let you know exactly how much I love this. I don't really know these characters, but these references are absolutely gorgeous. I already love your art, but seeing you breakdown and explore your characters like this is really sort of inspiring and makes me want to create reference sheets like this too. It also makes me more curious about these characters and who they are.
Your expressions are beautiful, your coloring always makes me lose my breath, and I always always always love how you do hair. I'm especially fond, on this sheet, of the way you draw a realistic headshot of the characters and then a stylized version. I love the difference between the styles and the fact that you took the time to show two different versions of the same thing. It's super cool, and I'm totally in love with it.
I'm so inspired by your art every time I see it, and I just really wanted to let you know that. I could probably gush even more (because oh my god your expressions are so GOOD and the teeth!! the forms!! the CLOTHES) but ho man I'd probably just end up with some more paragraphs where I fail to use any words better than beautiful, gorgeous, or amazing ha ha
