Description
This started out as a doodle in anthropology class, but I liked it so much I turned it into something more.Frank, making the progress from fetus to adult no childhood in between. 8 stages, one fer each month Frank should have spent in the womb, why is there only 8 instead of 9? Frank was aborted at 6 weeks he didn't make it to month 2.
Ah Frank there is a reason I made him so cute, he has a message to convey and people tend to listen to cute things more then dismembered things.
if yer pro-choice I really don't care, I just don't wanna hear about it, everything I ever learned about the pro-choice mindset I learned from rants and here [link] EVERY single abortion themed art piece on DA sparks an abortion debate instead of people commenting on the art for what it is and if I wanted to debate I'd go to the Gaia forums.
However I will add this and you can take it or leave it .
"The old law permitted abortion to save one life when two would otherwise die. The new law permits abortion to take one life when two would otherwise live." - Herbert Ratner, M.D.

Oh, I have an imagination. It's just that I also realise things look better when you can tell the artist is actually intelligent.

really? then why isn't any of it shown in your art? cause it looks like the how to draw manga books puked all over your gallery after eating MS paint's tool box.
I'll let you know when I see an intelligent artist though. I'm sure they'll be able to spell realize correctly, at the very least.

See, I have the excuse of being underage and barely starting to find my own style. What's your excuse for the terrible?
And, European spellings. They exist. I know, shocking, right?
π: 0 β©: 1
Candy2021 In reply to BackToTheDisaster [2010-07-13 05:13:43 +0000 UTC]
being underage does not excuse rudeness and criticizing someone else's use of artistic license.
if it was intended to be biologically accurate, don't you think it would be?
this picture is demonstrating the evolution from fetus- to adulthood. which is NOT possible, living with your spine exposed is not possible.
I don't know WHAT stage your talking about " the eyes being open" because early on in the chart? their NOT, in early development of a growing fetus the eyelids are see-though as seen here - [link]
any stage after that? is a fetus growing into an adult- hence: NOT a real stage of human development. so where are you getting your facts from exactly?
π: 0 β©: 1
BackToTheDisaster In reply to Candy2021 [2010-07-13 05:22:49 +0000 UTC]
I never said it was. I fully admit to being rude. However, the excuse was for my ART that you felt the need to bring up in a comment on your piece, not mine.
I doubt it would be biologically accurate even if you wanted, since you seem to have an issue with that throughout everything.
*You're. *They're.That hyphen shouldn't be there. Neither should the last. Do you have something against capital letters? How impolite to them. They deserve as much love as lowercase letters. Way to go, ruining the English language after trying to call me out on spellings you don't know.
Okay, so the lids are see-through by that picture, but as I can see they're still not so large you can tell what they are. More like little black dots, really. My facts? This little thing called HEALTH CLASS. Surely you've heard of it.

Candy2021 In reply to BackToTheDisaster [2010-07-13 05:41:45 +0000 UTC]
If youβre going to criticize someoneβs art- you really should be in the position to do it.
What do you mean βI have an issue with it throughout everything" what are you attacking me for? I only went after you for the spelling thing because youβre up my ass about a creature that does not even exist!
you were using your age to excuse your art- that may work for your "style" but not for how all of your characters are the same, they all look pretty, skinny and white with emo hair. Donβt hide behind your age just because someone called you out on something after you came and attacked them.
βOkay, so the lids are see-through by that picture, but as I can see they're still not so large you can tell what they are. More like little black dots" now: your just nit picking because youβre looking for things to find fault with. The eyes are so large because this is a cartoon... making eyes bigger to make things cuter is a common practice among cartoonists- scratch that EVERY artist.
I asked where your getting your facts from for what a fetus growing into an adult looks like since- fetuses don't grow into adults I'm pretty sure they never taught that in health class, since fetus's don't grow into adults they grow into you know... babies.
also: just throwing that out there- this picture is nearly 4 years old... why are you taking issue with it with me now?
In a nutshell: you have a problem with the biological accuracy of something that does not exist. That would be like if I drew a unicorn with antlers and you said βunicorns don't have antlers, they have one horn- go back to zoologyβ do you see the nonsense of trying to bring up biology with something that does not exist?

^^ You did a really sweet piece of art there. heh Guess you gave him the halo cos as aborted child heΒ΄d be an angel?
But why did you give him that open spine?
π: 0 β©: 1
Candy2021 In reply to xjuvenx [2007-08-19 20:49:05 +0000 UTC]
I give anyone whose dead a halo. just depending on HOW they died depends on what color they get. accidental death gets silver, suicide gets bronze and murder/already in heaven get gold.
his spine is exposed because thats how he was aborted, his brain stem was snapped while he was still in the womb. so as he grew,so did his wound.

what do you mean people like me? I have left some very kinda civil comments on pro-chice peices. you just happends to find the one that I can't stand because it paints pro-life people ( like you) out to be vicious monsters who want to keep women improsioned and locked away, but it's nice to know your keeping a track record of all my activity on DA.
p.s. thats not a comment on the artwork thats a comment on the description. deivant ART is a place to leave comments about ART, not what others deviants think.

First of all, learn how to spell. Your typos are driving me crazy.
Second of all, I am not painting pro-anything out to be anything. Pro-life people make themselves out to be hard-headed, closed-minded, usually bible-thumping hypocrites. And your little website link is not pro-choice whatsoever..its pro-abortion, if there was such a group.
I am pro-choice..meaning, I do not personally agree with it, but its a free fucking country, and I've stated my other reasons before.

this is generalizing again. just take what I said ealier and apply it here.
you know you have the balls to bitch about western society. but look at you. you are a perfect example of the mindset that exists within the US today. "I want to do whatever I want but I DONT want to suffer the consequences." Typical story. Say hello to reality when it hits you.
it IS a free country your absolutly right. but don't generalize what pro-lifers are bcause you just said bible thumping and I havent brought up god or any form of a god to you yet. fuck that, aboriton should be illegal becuase it violates the constitution that is a LAW in this country. it violates the right to live whitch is one of our natura; rights as human beings.
the only problem with that is. everyone argues over when does life START? some say 5 months some say when your born ( tho I fail to see the logic in that when is a baby any less a perosn when it pops out of someones cooch)
theres only one clear cut line for that, and that is conception, when the sperm hits the egg a life is started. because UP UNTIL THAT POINT there was no problem, I mean...i don't know about you, but I've never met anyone who got pregnant and had say--- a shoe.
aboriton is war on the unborn aswell as descrimintating agansit someone based upon their age and place of residents. WAY TO GO free country. susan B anthony fought for womens rights she wnated to be treated like a man even if it meant going to jail, they wnated to go easy on her but she wanted to be treated just like any man who broke the law, women these days are disgusting with their hypocroacy, if men can't kill and get away with it I dont see why women get too just becuase it happens to be inside them.

you learned about the pro-choice mindset from a clearly baised pro-life website. I'm serious. That's garbage.
π: 0 β©: 1
Candy2021 In reply to soulesslouisa [2007-05-16 11:39:10 +0000 UTC]
I thought about that but I felt it would take away from the image meaning.
I know it's a pro-life website ,and everyone says a site is bias when they don't agree with it, hence why i added "from other peoples rants" aswell there.
π: 0 β©: 1
soulesslouisa In reply to Candy2021 [2007-05-16 17:22:13 +0000 UTC]
no, it isnt baised because I dont agree with it.
It's baised because it has an extreme opinion. The "pro choice" section is bais because its things extremely pro coice peoepl would say. and the website itself uses persuasive language and buttered up phrases and all fo its sources are nto completely accurate, so that's baised too.
Soem things are right on both side, but not all (or many at all on either side)
π: 0 β©: 1
Candy2021 In reply to soulesslouisa [2007-05-16 20:02:15 +0000 UTC]
it's abortion everything with it has an extreme opinion.
however I will say this..there is only pro-life or pro-choice, there needs to be a middle ground. 90% of pro-lifers think abortion shouldn't be used in ANY cases, not even if the mothers life is in danger, but some pro-choicers don't think that abortion is a womens choice their in it strictly for the health concerns and dosent that defeat the name "pro-choice" ???... I'm rallying for a third option here.

abortion is a pretty complicated subject. im all against it after seeing the vidio of it acctually happening, seeing the fedus scream in pain and stuff i cant stand it but in some ways it might not be of a choice, if a 7 year old girl get raped, then pregnant she could die along with the child, in that case abortion may be the only way to save the child. and honestly i would hate to see a baby go to a crack whore...

no wait. I stand corrected, a few aborted people DO make to adulthood, the survivors.
some of them come out perfectly fine others aren't so lucky, I think the most common result of surviving a saline abortion is cerebral palsy.
