Wow. has it been 3 years already? where does the time GO!?Anyways for those of you who haven't been watching me for like a decade let me bring you up to speed.
This is Gloria. She is one of my first original characters. I made her when I was 9 and she was originally a fan character for Daria. I have since assimilated her into my regular cast.
The first picture of her one of my earliest pieces of artwork that I can find in one piece. and every couple of years when I find it again I re-draw it. Just to keep tabs on how I'm doing as an artist. am I getting better? am I getting worse? have I not improved at all? have I done something completely different? I'm a big fan of the theory that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it...and who would want to repeat any of these? ew...
I was going to wait until 2013 to do this again- but what the hell. Me and my art have been having a battle royal all year so who knows what I'll be drawing this time next year.
It's been a fun little project as the years go on and I do still hope I'm doing this when I'm a withered old lady.
Think of it as a really long winded version of the draw this again! meme

I use to watch Daria I loved that show, and I am a real machista like I will rarely watch a female protagonist show. But she wasn't like the usual dumb heroin she had a brain, and she was in my world filled with people who are brain dead. Thanks for reminding me now I will watch. Your style has gotten better though they all were good. You keep getting way better.

If their were more female characters like Daria I could get into shows, but nah their are mostly just stereotypes. Like I can't think of any chick who I can think of who was cool. Except for Daria.lol Do u have a list?

Their are. They are few and far between because there is a system in place keeping dynamic female characters out of the lime light. but I few manage to sneak in there.

I don't remember if I've ever commented on one of these over the years, but let me just say that I flipping love that you're still redrawing this; it's so much fun to see how much your style has progressed over the years! You've definitely improved over the last three years! Your women have gotten a lot sexier and a lot more realistic! The detail in her jeans is subtle, but it definitely has a lot nicer effect than having no seams at all, I think. I also love that you've been shading your work lately, too! c: Man, I kind of want to do this as well! xD

oh my gosh, so much improvement, I can hardly believe it. In the current one her form looks so much more natural and her pose has a kinda fluid movement to it. Even her clothes sit more naturally on her. It's great to see improvement in little things too like the high heels and her nails.

Ha! 1997 is probably better than the past three years of my drawing, actually. Although 2012's cute, too, I think I actually like 2009 best of them. Maybe it's just the pose, but it's awesome. :3
