Oh, boy, am I glad this is done. This image originally started as a quick sketch I did last night of Derpy. Just like this pose, but looking at a muffin. Well, when I saw today's Newbie Artist Training Grounds' topic was a pony reading. Since I was planning on vectorizing the sketch anyway, I figured why not make her reading and submit it?

Now, that would have been just fine if I didn't have the idea of her sitting on Pinkie's counter, looking at her muffin cookbook. When I though of the idea, I knew I had to do it.

And oh man, did that take some time.

I started when I got home from work around 1:00pm, and finished about 10 minutes ago, at 11:30pm. Ten straight hours of working, with a half-hour dinner break. Phew.

Anyway, I'm glad it's finally done. I had to skimp on a few of the kitchen details due to time constraints, but I like how it turned out.

You know, making an image like this really helps one appreciate how much effort is put into the show. I wonder how long it took the artists to make all the scenes, like Twilight's Treehouse (which I'm also vectoring right now - tons of details!) and Sweet Apple Acres. Thanks again, you guys, for an awesome show!

The full size image is 2560x1600, which resizes perfectly to 1280x800 (my laptop's resolution. ), so download it if you'd like to use it as a wallpaper or something.
