I'm making comics of my experiences in Fallout 4, documenting the highlights.It didn't happen exactly this way. I turned away for two seconds to look at a cow that had somehow gotten stuck in a tiny fenced-off area and I hear this horrible CRUNCH sound and I turn around and Hancock says something like "Looks like I clipped my leg or something" and he's limping around dragging his leg & holding his stomach with a completely agonized expression following after me and I freaked the fuck out.
I know now that I need to keep his inventory stocked with health items for him to use by himself, like that one time we killed, like, forty dudes in a diner and he's enjoying a huge fucking steak at a counter next to a skeleton I mean check out the lack of fucks on this guy it's awesome.
I mean fuck RPG this is a 'best friends crazy explosion adventures' simulator.

I swear that happened to me, except I was in power armor, and so it literally looked like I crushed Hancock.
I was like, "TAKE ALL MY STIMPACKS, DRUGS, WHATEVER- AHHH WHERE IS CURIE WHEN YOU NEED HER AHHHHHHHH"

I laughed too hard at this, then brought back the flashbacks of murdered Fallout 3 Dogmeat. The raider's and supermutant's learned fear that day, I butchered them all, then reloaded a previous save to find Dogmeat all sweet and told him to STAY back in a safe place and NOT get his doggy face turned to paint by grenades and smgs.

Yes!!!! So many reloads.
They can die in New Vegas on Hardcore mode.
Even worse, F01 and F02, companions died so much and Dogmeats death is canon T-T

Okay, when thisreally the actual ingame sound is...I must totally try this out XD. I quicksave the game anyway every 2 minutes. I had the "Hancock can die" bug ONE f*cking time. Never again. T.T

I read something horrible today. I read that if he had chems in his inventory when you dismiss him when you're in romance mode, there's a chance he'll glitch. take them all at once and permadie.
Let me repeat that: he "glitches" when he loves you and you abandon him for someone else and he purposely overdoses.
That's not a glitch-that's A.I. right there.

Nah, that's just some old sprite art from Wasteland – the predecessor of all Fallout games. I'm sure other people use this for their avatar as well^^

I found an interesting 'bug' in-game once, one that killed Hancock and made me reload about an hour's backwards.

There's a bug where he can die, yeah.
He and a few others have it, and only during certain situations.
Ever since I read about that I've been kinda paranoid and did the "Inspirational" VATS to keep me from hurting any of my companions.
Level 2 makes them invulnerable to your accidental attacks.

Oh god... now I feel somehow clad, usually not playing a game, where followers can suffer falling damage. My path would be full of smashed corpses.... and causing probably a trauma for me.-.-

It does get a bit annoying having to take walkable paths rather than jumping like I normally would. I have little to no care for my own physical well-being.

XD this is pretty much my reaction in these situations

One time, in Skyrim, I got so mad at the girl in Whiterun that screams at you that she wants to fight, that I was like, "OKAY BRAT, YOU WANNA GO!?"
I saved, then tried to kill her when she followed me into my house.
Turns out, the kids can't die.
Now I have to listen to her stupid voice AND her taunts, forever.

...Can you tell I hate her too? That moment....that moment I wished I played on the pc instead of a PS3, cause then I could have installed a mod for that.

They really are indestructible. I'll let Cait take on a dozen raiders... she'll eventually get turned into swiss cheese, but all she does is lay down and take a break. The game says you can give her a stimpak if you wanna get her back into the fight. Funny part is there's a timer where she just gets back up on her own so you don't even have to manually heal her.
My only advice as far as equipping companions with weapons goes... don't give them high explosives.

Companions are immortal. I once shot a Fatman nuke at Piper and she turned out okay excluding killing myself right in the blast radius.

Stuff like that is actually why I never bring my companions along. I feel so guilty if they get hurt or killed.
