She really needs some counseling for the PTSD portion of her makeup.
It's really no fun.
For example, if anyone grabs me by the wrist with even a slight amount of force, I drop to the ground and completely shut down, like you pressed my 'off' switch. My dad used to grab me. And if grabbed you, bad things were happening immediately afterwards.

Chapter five isn't done, yet.
Neither is six, which has less "things" happening just is super heavy.
This volume's last two chapters will be stress.

She actually ends up being the most stable of the bunch. Well, she and Madeline are both really stable. Way more than the others, that's for sure.

Yes. The joke is that a ferret could technically be called a 'cat snake' in the same way we combine pre-existing words to name animals rather than give them their own name, i.e. hedgehog, prairie dog, flying fox, etc.
Raccoons could be called 'trash pandas', for example, and it would still work in English since it describes the animal's appearance and behavior.
German is way worse about this, though. Everything is either a dog or a pig even when they don't look anything like either.

Well, most of those "pigs" in German animal names come not from look, but from the animals being eaten,
especially from the times of exploring the world by ship.
Like the "guinea pig" that was taken as food on board by both English and German sea travellers.
Or like the hedgehog and groundhog in English, they were just small game and eaten as well.

I have learned something of value today.
EDIT: That's not sarcasm, btw, I'm legit happy I learned something that explains the language a bit.

Not only medieval Britains ate them.
There are some other cultures eating hedgehog too.

I never considered those names before, hedgehog, and prairie dog. I have a new way of thinking.
So German is less imaginative or it just sees all things as dogs and pigs?

It does...whenever I see an elderly black woman in a wheel chair all I see is my Grandma
but I'm just glad that she died peacefully and didn't suffer. I can't imagine what poor Corelle is going through.

Yeah, well, her old "projects" helped support her dreams back when she worked in a chicken factory and got the death-plague that led to her losing her hands.
TRAUMA.
Sometimes it's physical.
Sometimes it's mental.
Sometimes, the things you used to love suddenly leave you with a stinging pain in your heart.
Poor Corelle. She suddenly saw her Dad's face on Quen's body.
THat's got to be creepy.

As a psychologist of sorts, these comics are amazing and fascinating at the same time.

Thank you!
There's a lot of psychology in the comic. I wanted to be a psychologist in high school but I didn't have access to the right degree options (tiny local colleges were all I could afford to work with). I instead took all the classes I could in the field in hopes of at least gaining some usable credit.
That didn't work out as I wanted due to economic restraints but it resulted in me having a far better understanding of the human mind. I do my best to apply it in the series.
