Description
After waiting 17 years below ground, this particular species of cicada finds its way to the surface, climbs up the nearest tree and crawls out of its skin so it can spread out its wings, start singing and try to find a mate. The noise is so loud it's deafening, and you see hundereds on every tree for the few weeks that they are out. Many people think they are rather disgusting looking, but I think they are facinating.

I've read Slaughterhouse V, Breakfast of Champions, Cat's Cradle, Slapstick, Player Piano, and some of his short stories.

awesome. I liked Slaughterhouse five, moreso than cat's cradle which I felt took forever to start. Which do you recommend I read next?

Breakfast of Champions.
Rating of weirdness:
Slaughterhouse V: 9
Breakfast of Champions: 11
Cat's Cradle: 15
Player Piano was the first book he wrote and it only gets Vonnegut-esque near the end. It drags on for quite a book and reads more like a traditional novel rather than the usually easy-to-read Vonnegut books. But it's still good.
Slapstick is my least favorite of his books, but a lot of other people like it. It's pretty weird, probably the weirdest, but eh, I just don't like it.
