Description
Wolfkit and his brother Dunekit were very close at one point. When they were both four moons of age, however, Dawnstar decreed that her prodigy of a son, Dunekit, was to become an apprentice. His new mentor was the best the leader had in store and matched his personality perfectly. Dunepaw thrived under the teachings of Thornheart the tail-less tabby warrior.

Another four moons passed and Dunepaw was ready to become a warrior even though he had only trained alongside his brother Wolfpaw for two moons. He knew it was for the greater good of ThunderClan that he take his warrior name then instead of wait for his brother to complete training under the dark warrior Blackwind.

Dunemask was the greatest of ThunderClan; young, strong and clever as even a RiverClan cat. For his efforts he was nick named The Golden Warrior. Wolfpaw remained as close to Dunemask as ever, even after the warrior's duties often separated them. Wolfpaw was never envious or jealous of his brother's recognition or Dawnstar's apparent favoritism toward him.

Dunemask always told Wolfpaw that Dawnstar was proudest of her firstborn (Dunemask himself) but that she loved her second born (Wolfpaw) the most. Wolfpaw could never grasp what this meant or why that could be so, but he accepted it.

Tragically, the brothers were separated by death... Dunemask was killed accidentally by the claws of a young ShadowClan warrior, Nightshine. ThunderClan was devastated as was the ShadowClan proclaimed heroine, for she had admired The Golden Warrior above all cats.

Wolfpaw decided to never fight again, not unless it was vital to his survival.
