Personally, Batman Returns is my favourite Batman movie, if I had to point to something that represented everything that is Batman, I would point to... (Batman: The Animated Series) but if I had to choose a movie that represented everything that is Batman, I'd pick this. It's certainly a guilty pleasure of mine but I do have to admit that it isn't perfect.

1: Put Harvey Dent back into the story

It is not known why Billy Dee Williams's Harvey Dent was written out of the movie but what we do know is that the Christopher Walken character Max Shreck was created as a stand it. If I could change one thing, I would not only put Harvey Dent back in, but make him the secondary the main focuses aside from Batman. And of course, be disfigured at the end when the Iceberg Lound explodes at the end which leads to him running a much in a hospital with the last shot showing his scared face.

2: Get rid of the Penguins backstory and add the Iceberg Lounge

Now, I know this version of the Penguin, or the Iceberg Lounge wasn’t introduced until after Batman Returns, but if I had to make the Penguin more interesting then I would do the something. I decided the get rid of most of the Penguins sympathetic traits in order to focuses on what the movie should have been about from the beginning, the romance between Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle. He still has a tragic backstory that's show at the beginning, but it more like the one from Secret Origins Special no.1. Here, he's more like Albert Spice from The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover and much close to the comic, a power-hungry mad man who just want to consume everything around him.

3: Make Catwoman more heroic

Everyone agrees Catwoman was the best part about Batman Return, and I partially agree with that. That's why I think she should have been more of an anti-hero that a full-on villain, meaning she's just as eager to protect Gotham and get the Penguin as Batman. In this version, it is the Penguin who pushes Selina Kyle out of the window meaning she doesn’t team with him and also tries to save the Ice Princess and help defeat the Penguin at the end

4: Focus more on Bruce Wayne and Salina Kyle's Relationship

To me, the movie biggest failing and biggest tragedy was not focussing more on Bruce Wayne and Salina Kyle's Relationship lie in Batman: Telltales. It could have taken the romance of the first movie and made it work much better, Salina Kyle is way more interesting than Vicky Vaile and much stronger. And like Batman: Telltales and the Dark Knight, it becomes a love triangle between Bruce, Salina and Harvey, also, I added the scene were Bruce and Salina make love and Harvey waking in on them from Batman: Telltales.

5: Have Catwoman stay dead at the end

I know that that would mean we won’t get a Catwoman spin-off movie, but after the Halle Berry Catwoman movie I think we don't want and Catwoman spin-off. In this version, Catwoman dies with the Penguin in an explosion and the final scene is of Bruce at Salina's grave on Christmas day. This will haunt him for films to come and she will be a constant reminder of who he is and what he does. Be he is greeted by her cat as a kind of farewell from the grave.
