Description
The Spacedock Class Starbase is a TMP era design seen in the various Star Trek movies. My Black Orchid Class ship is there for scale.
I should have learned my lesson on large Starbases, even in my capitol scale when I did the TOS version; [link]
As far as scale is concerned, in ST: II the Enterprise just clears the doors, in ST: III the Excelsior just clears the doors, and in the TNG era the Enterprise D just clears the doors. So I made a rough guess.

Wow, that space station is huge, very nice.
And speaking of space shipyeards, what you think of this, is a section of the Olympus Space Dock, I take the idea from lunar ring space station from Starship Troopers, here is the link:

dang! serious as a heart attack, I made something kinda similar to this a few days ago. (it needs detail work before I post it)
Mine was based on a chair glide plug that fell out of the chair.

Maybe that's where the designers came up with the idea.

Supposedly that's where a lot of artist's designs comes from. Random, out of place, everyday objects.
My favorite item I first associated this was a Model I did when I was young, The Leif Ericson. Which, if you take off the wings and nose cap and stand it upright, is a liquor bottle.

Also looks like plastic "plug" you put in walls to hold screws in place. Looks neat, though.

Yup!
well, then there are special effects... It took me a couple of years but then I figured out what the Romulan plasma attack from TOS was.... a smoker's smoke ring.

And don't forget the Empire State Building in NYC.
It was based solely on the ever humble pencil.

really? hmm I would have though it was based on an Egyptian obelesk... (which was supposedly based on the male penis ((...is there a female penis then?? )) )
Is this something you heard??

It could be in multiple posts for all the angles.
Just remember she can accommodate Galaxy Class ships.

Thanks for the vote of confidence...But being a TNG era scale (about 2 to 3 times the size of the TMP era one), the center of the base, alone, would be way to big for me to do...That an I don't do 24th century, as a rule.
It's a kewl design. I'm sorry for not being of any help. But feel free to kit-bash mine.

Well you don't have to put a Galaxy Class init if you don't want to and besides I don't have the unnecessary parts to fully do her justice.
Also if you feel like not doing the other views That is totally fine. I was really hoping to see her in color.
