Description The Type J Class Space-Station is a TOS design by Masao Okazaki. And is "seen" in the TOS era "Star Trek" novels series "Star Trek: Vanguard"

Using what I refer to as my "Capitol Scale" (as my standard scale would have made this way to big), I used David Metlesits' USS Polaris as a scale reference.

How convenient, I buy a Vanguard novel and I find this in my watchlist messeges. Nice.

So right that they actually used it in an episode of the remastered original series.

Yeah, looks like they downscaled it though.

Anytime...As I got the idea for drawing the station from your art.

I know you stick to top, front and side views, but I think this would have been better viewed as a bottom, front and side view. I think the top just obscured a lot of the details you probably put a lot of work into.

Very well done!

Question, is your "capital scale" with clearly defined boundaries, or do you sort of wing it?

Pretty defined...But there's some guesswork.

My "Capitol Scale" is fairly uniformed. And are all to scale with each-other. [link] [link] [link]

I really meant, do you use the capital scale for anything over 1000 feet (for instance) or do you shoot more from the hip?

From the hip, I suppose. There are factors I weigh, though.

Most starbases are big enough to hold a full size starship inside it, so those tend to get the smaller scaling. And supersized starships, like a Star Destroyer also fall into this.
