I like this "pusher" configuration with the hangar bays forward of the nacelles. I feel like a lot of fan-designed carriers I see use an extended Miranda hull or something similar. This is different and interesting.

I was being generic and referring to the doors themselves, which are just slightly more that two decks tall. Meaning the hanger outriggers / pincers / whatever you wanna call 'em are just under 6 decks (the partial deck being used for stowage, electronics, etc). Giving the center section (and overall ship) just over 10 decks.
I used the Enterprise - A cutaway by Jackill as referance

I love the basic concept of it, but is there any room for crew quarters? Even if every unused space was packed with bunks, this ship still wouldn't have enough room for the teams of deck crews and fighter/shuttle pilots.

Given the nature of the ship, she doesn't need a lot of crew. Those hanger doors are a couple decks tall. Repair decks and flight crew quarters are below the main bay deck.

I'm afraid I must agree with on this one my friend. If the hangar decks really are only two decks tall, then that means that the rest of the ship is only three decks, not including engineering spaces, maintenence access spaces, stowage rooms, recreational rooms, work rooms and crew quarters. You must also consider the amount of personell needed to support a fleet of small fightercraft, unless support is fully automated, which I imagine it isn't if it's TOS. Consider a modern aircraft carrier, with around 5000 personell, and how much space they require. Imagine all those people attempting to fit inside such a small crew quarters as would be on the USS ANDREW JOHNSON. So unless you have some sort of crew-reducing automated technology that wasn't present in the TOS series, I recomend expanding the USS ANDREW JOHNSON.
Otherwise, it's a beautiful ship, and I'd love to see it do battle with Klingons!

If the ship's captain has a cool beard or a battle scar, the universe freezes solid from the awesomeness of this ship!
