Description
The refit Excelsior Class Battleship is a design first seen in the Movie "Star Trek: Generations"The first seen example was the Enterprise "B". Launched in 2293, it skirts the edge of my no "24th century or later" policy on orthos.
The designers just made bits and bobs to the original model, so as to show damage, without having to damage the model. And that's what I did...I refit my original Excelsior drawing.
Made it even easier, as I'm going on the assumption that the Excelsior may have actually been refit, so I wouldn't have to mess with the name and registry.

Back in my younger years, I had a Micro-Machine of this ship. She was so tiny!

I still find it amusing that this corresponds to what Playmates Toys did when they released their attempt on Excelsior in the mid-'90s. Β They had already done a toy of the Enterprise-B for "Generations," and they didn't even bother retooling the mold to correctly depict the Excelsior's proper hull configuration in "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country." Instead, they merely repainted and reissued the Enterprise-B mold (complete with the same "Generations"-inspired sound effects) with "EXCELSIOR" and "NCC-2000" stickers. Β I just bought one of those ships for myself, despite the obvious error, largely because of the "vintage" quality of the '90s Playmates toys (they were the ones I knew and wanted when I was a kid).

At Dallas Comi-con a few days ago, I saw the version you're referring to, the Enterprise-B and a correct version of the Excelsior.

Well, most toy and model companies, if they could find a cheap work around, they generally took it.

Wasn't the Excelsior the one commanded by Sulu late on in Trek?

The none refit version, yes.

Behind the scenes the Model Glue they used to attach the additional pieces did do in fact damage to model when they went to take the additions off thus why they had to use it as the Lakota with the Pieces still on it.

I find it funny how the Refit's distinctive hull extension would prove to be Kirk's deathbed!

Yeah...Funny how so many later Excelsior Class ships didn't go with the new look.

lol, must have given the sub-type a bad reputation.
I think only the B and Lakota were Refits.

, we only see two ships in this configuration, Enterprise-B, and USS Lakota, all the rest that we've seen are Excelsior-I-class (presumably with upgraded impulse engines). I'm not complaining, just pointing out a fact.

I saw this when I did my research. But I wanted a reason to have a ship with the actual name of the ship class (makes it easier when searching)...That and I was being lazy.
But facts aside, I'm glad you liked it.

It's good. It'd be even better as the Enterprise-B.

Very nice! Is there any way that you could that refit on the 2 picture that you did for me? The Constellation? and Defiant?
