Description
The Kennedy Class Carrier is a TOS / pre-TOS design by Christopher Donovan...Mods and top view extrapolation by me.A design so heavily kit-bashed, I had to make minor alterations, in spots, to make it feasible.
The original design, over at Starship Schematics Database... [link]

Sweet design.
I hear under construction CVN-79 has been recently named Kennedy too.

Yup. The Ford Class, that's replacing the old Kitty Hawk Class Kennedy (CV-67)

Well, after doing some research...A single Penguin Class could fit in each bay (barely clearing the doors). Maybe two of the Puffin Class. Could easily deploy armed shuttles or armed Bees (aka Wasps)

Very interesting design. So it's a aircraft carrier of sorts. I have to say, I've never seen it's like before.
The only place I would quibble in your interpretation is the launching bay doors on either side of the main hull. I'd think they were vertical there and not rounded like the rest of the main hull, but that's arguable (If you look at the section behind the deflector array, it goes two panels then the panels break and then the horizontal lines segue to a different pattern).
I wonder what those little widgets are on either side of those doors? I think I remember seeing them in various shots of the Enterprise, but don't remember their purpose.
hmm.

They're not rounded. More angled, like a octagon. It was the only way I could conform to the front view, and keep a "flat" surface for the bay doors.
They're more seen in the TMP era. I'd guess they were originally tractor-beam emitters to bring in shuttles. I pot landing lights on them.

The reason I didn't go with that is, being that those are "bridge domes", that would make the fighter bay only as wide as a Connie bridge, from door to door.

Yeah, I realized that too, well at least that the bay is small (I didn't realize those were bridge domes). Just remember, they don't have mag-thrust launch rails like Battlestar Galactica! heh heh

took a little longer than I expected, because I started to get into a groove. At which point I have to keep reminding myself that I was just doing a quick sketch! heh

No worries, I get that way too. You do realize that this is someone else's REALLY bad kit-bash, I though I could make work.

umm no, I didn't realize that. Though when I worked in military ship design (about 20 years), it was sometimes common practice that all you get are 2 views leaving you to scramble to figure out what it perceptually looks like or look like you aren't going to be staying at the job. heh

yeah, that's sorta what I imagined they were; maybe landing lights to illuminate the exterior.
Well what if they weren't angled flat but vertical flat? hang on I can make a picture of what I mean...

Well, I'm guessing that's the main bay for the ship and / or cargo loading bay. Each fighter bay has doors on either side of the ship.

so each shuttle bay has doors on either side? Atleast I'm assuming those are 12 shuttlebays. AN interesting design. what is just above the deflector dishes though?
