Description
The Falcon Class Fast Frigate / Scout is self made cross-over design to thank everyone for 4000 page views. There are two versions. And this one is to be a closer design representation of the Millennium Falcon. While the other is closer to Federation protocols.

Is the fore torpedo tubes in the saucer centerline, underside?Β Or the two dark spots on the front of the outboard command section?

Under the bridge module. I did that, because that's where it's normally located, on pre-Phase II ships.

So, so wrong! Β Β
It turned out nicely, I have to admit. Β That offset bridge really feels wrong on a Starfleet saucer, though.

Which is why I made two versions...

Glad you liked it, though.

They're both well done. Β The other version "feels" more like a proper Starfleet design, but as much as the design just seems alien to me, the offset bridge does emulate that Corellian design ethos.
I'd guess that the bridge crew loves her, but the engineers have their complaints... Β

Not a pleasant sounding crossover. The Mirror Universe was evil enough.

Being a bigger SW fan than a ST fan, I have two halves of the Sci-Fi lobe of my brain warring with each other and on the verge of spontaneous combustion. Β This just kicks ass all the way around. I love that you gave a nod to Lucas' THX-1138 even though a part of me wishes you had used YT-1300 instead.Β
I haven't had a chance to peruse all the rest of your designs so I'll probably answer my own question here in a few minutes but have you done or is there planned, a "USS Serenity" based off of Firefly? That would make for another amazing mash-up.

captshade In reply to Macksimum73 [2013-07-26 18:05:34 +0000 UTC]
Well, THX-1138 has been snuck into several of his films...more than once. So, I went with it.
As far as a Firefly class...If I ever figure out how to do one up, and make it look probable, then I might.

Anyone ever WATCH THX-1138?Β Someone must have owed Lucas a BIG favor.Β It was boring, depressing, and confusing.Β It didn't even have a real ending...it just kind of STOPPED!
Sorry.Β I have a view that Lucas became an egotist based on his first Star Wars Trilogy, and didn't credit his sources enough. (See Akira Kurosawa's "Hidden Fortress" for Star Wars story points and character inspirations galore.)Β This obviously affects my judgement.Β
But I watched THX-1138 without the expectation such a personality had yet developed, so....

I was thinking about that myself but unfortunately the design lends itself to more of a Klingon style ship than anything in the Federation. lol

Just a friendly note, i thought ships of this overall build and design where classified as "Corellian" class.
she's still a good looking bird though; what kind of engine system you got on her? fusiondrive, warpdrive? or maybe a nice corellian-style hyperdrive with what i'm guessing looks like a jump booster and an in-hyperspace density stabalizer coupling?
its a good looking ship. nice job.

captshade In reply to PANDORUM12 [2011-07-05 18:43:21 +0000 UTC]
In it's native universe, Corellian refers to a ship building company as well as the planet / system the company hails from.
More people would have heard of the Falcon than Corellian Light Freighter...Though they may have heard of the Corellian Corvette (the Tantive IV Blockade Runner).
This version has a standard Starfleet warp drive. But the impulse engines are far from standard.

i like the blending of the standard warp drive and the advanced impulse engines.
i personally am working on a few custom projects myself for starfleets. my current favorite, known as a starcrusher, is a 4 kilometer long mix of a heavy destroyer and a fighter carrier. its propulsion is granted by quad-linked pulse fusion thrusters and has a highly advanced hyperdrive system known as the "Hades variant". it also sports a cannon called a chronocepter, which simulates an explosion equivalent to a small star gone nova. hoping someday ill be able to post it.

Definitely sounds like a Star Wars ship. Star Trek tech on a Star Wars scale ship is a deadly combo, for sure.

PANDORUM12 In reply to captshade [2011-07-07 15:16:27 +0000 UTC]
im glad you like the way the starcrusher sounds.
so are you going to make anything from/for warhammer 40k or mass effect? ill bet you could probobly make a pretty good spin on a turian ship, or an imperial Gothic cruiser.
