Description
*FULLVIEW PLEASE!*First tutorial, ever... O.o... hope it is okay/ is of use to someone.
Yes, it is specifically for Howrse, but I supose it can be used for pixels of all kinds.
Requested by my good friend renesmee1 of Howrse.com. The pixel is hers, NOT YOURS and I used it to make the tutorial mostly because I was too darn lazy to do another. Hope you find it helpful, Ren!
Note: My name on Howrse.com is LuvdaEarth, hence "LuvdaEarth's Pixel tutorial"

I haven't actually tried this yet but it seems to be a lot more helpful than most tutorials already. And like renesmee said, I honestly didn't ever think that you could use a real picture. I thought it had to be from scratch too! Lol

I think the problem here is that I don't even know where to add shadows and highlights WITH a ref haha

you just look at the picture. Where you see darker areas on the horse, pick the color from the picture and paint right over where you see the shadow. Same goes for highligting. XD lol I hope this has helped?

Hmm, is it possible to make a decently shaded pixel using line art?

Thank you!!!
See I didnt even know you could use a regular horse pic to go off of, I thought you had to do the whole thing by scratch!

No problem!
And no, you can use stock for refernces, as long as the stock artists permit it.
