Hmmm Ok when I tried to erase the one spot, it erases the actual background instead of just the blur. I duplicated my layout so im not sure why this isnt working.

I do it a bit differently. I use a fuzzy selection brush to get the part I want blurred, then apply Gaussian Blur. Having the extra layer is probably smarter, though.

YAY thanks! I needed this. I've been using the Blur/Sharpen tool. I don't know if this would work, but could you, perhaps, use a layer mask and then use a black/white radial gradient on the mask to get the effect as well?

Most definitely!
This is just what I use. XD I like easier/ simpler ways of doing things, like using the good ol' eraser tool, but a layer mask could definitely work!

lol I used your way, with a gradient and mask, on this [link] manip last night... It worked pretty well (: MUCH faster than the blur tool
