My program: Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0Yeah... hope someone finds this helpful. ^^ If you do use it, drop me a note or something. I'd love to see this be of use.

[EDIT] Just noticed the reason why the head doesn't look right... because in the image, it's actually touching the ground. lmfao. I am such a div. xD
Yeah - the shadow for the head should link up to the head of the horse.
God. It's so embarrassing when you get it wrong in a tutorial. lmao.
[EDIT x2 16/08/2012] Thank you to ~asadd215 for providing an additional tip: instead of blurring the edges, try a gaussian blur on the whole layer. That will smooth it much more neatly and save a whole lot of time.

I like it! But, it's a bit to choppy, you did say to blur around the edges, but what is better (no offence) is to Gaussian Blur it

It's the simplicity that makes your tutorial perfect. I use a similar approach when masking. I simply select copy and past over previous layers and it works gr8. Thanks for you instruction. I will use in the future.
