Huge solar prominence on the sun yesterday. I have included a scaled Earth to give you an idea just how big that prominence was.

Be a little toasty if the earth was really that close, eh?

Fantastic capture! I love the excellent detail in the prominence and the surface of the sun. Well done!

Truly wonderful!
I have never engaged in solar astro-photography or astronomy in general, I find the sun very intimidating, so am going to start observing it when I have the proper tools

Very cool Greg! There's been quite a bit of activity lately. Should be interesting to see how fierce the Sun activity gets during the next few years.

Thank you very much Shaun Solar maximum is ment to be next year, so if it's already putting on a show now, I can't wait for it to really get going. If there is a heap of activity like this when I'm imaging the Venus transit or Solar Eclipse next year, I think I will loose my mind.
