Description Edit: Basically redid the entire animation, added two frames (so that's 12 frames now) and none of the previous frames was left untouched. Tried to smoothen the motion and make it a bit more deer-like, also made the neck more dynamic. Obviously the tail is still missing, but I've spent too much time on this already so I'm just leaving it out.

The old version is here (for comparison): [link]

-----

Animation assignment for school. Not much to say about this, I know it's not the best but ah well. I'm not feeling very well and I wanted this out of the way, critique won't be necessary as I know what's been done wrong (movement, lack of tail, edginess), but I'm not going to fix it at the moment.

It's still been good practise. There are 10 frames. Should've been 12, but I timed them wrong and couldn't manage to fit another one in. I might still do that later.

This looks great! The only thing that seems off is that it appears to be a little slow for a run. Other than that, its really good!

I'm afraid that's the result of the amount of frames, I couldn't make it run any faster in Photoshop. Thank you .

I figured as much. Its still fantastic though! I'm afraid I've let my animation skills fall to the waste side. I need to get back to practicing that.

Do you participate/know of the 11 Second Club?

I've never heard of the 11 Second Club, I'm afraid. I don't really have time for clubs anymore xD.

Well, you can check it out by googling it. But what the 11 Second club is is an animation club. Every month they provide an audio clip that is 11 Seconds long. Usually from different movies. You can do any kind of animation you'd like to it. 2D, 3D, stop motion, etc. People vote and a winner is chosen. The winner then gets free critiques from professional animators. Its actually a very good, monthly challenge. I only participated in it once for a school project.

This is great ^^ I've been thinking about doing an animation of one of my characters, so it's good to see it can be don e relatively well in just a few short frames.

And it's amazing to see how much you've improved in just a few years in regards to animation. [link] And for that matter, how much Lhune's design has changed.

Ah, much better now, indeed! The movement feels a lot more natural and smooth now 8D

The previous one was.. decent, except it did seem like it had a minor spasm when the front legs hit the ground again xD
Then again, you say you didn't feel all well at the time, which makes it understandable, really.

The legs came out really smooth and the edited slight lift of the upper portion of the body really helped. I love that the shadow grows shorter and longer

It looks very good, for the most part anything I could pick on you are well aware of. The only thing I saw that looked off to me was the "gate" of the deer, like a horse when in a cantering motion the front and back legs should move symmetrically. Meaning if the front left hits the ground first then the back left should do the same. Here the left front hits first and the right comes further forward while the back does the opposite. This is referred to as crossfireing something not typically done in nature and when done in domestic horses it is corrected through training. Other then that I really think this is coming along well.

Ahh so that's cross-firing . I couldn't find the meaning of the term on Google. Thanks for enlightening me, something to pay attention to for a future animation!
