Description
Edit: Basically redid the entire animation, added two frames (so that's 12 frames now) and none of the previous frames was left untouched. Tried to smoothen the motion and make it a bit more deer-like, also made the neck more dynamic. Obviously the tail is still missing, but I've spent too much time on this already so I'm just leaving it out.The old version is here (for comparison): [link]

Animation assignment for school. Not much to say about this, I know it's not the best but ah well. I'm not feeling very well and I wanted this out of the way, critique won't be necessary as I know what's been done wrong (movement, lack of tail, edginess), but I'm not going to fix it at the moment.
It's still been good practise. There are 10 frames. Should've been 12, but I timed them wrong and couldn't manage to fit another one in. I might still do that later.

Nice, have you done much frame by frame animating before?

Not much, but I've done a few attempts in the past.

Oh, also if you want to fit another frame in, you might be able to fit one in while both legs are in the air? Just so it feels a bit more floaty at that point. Not sure though.

Mmh, perhaps. Won't happen today though, I'm not really feeling well so I was happy enough I could get this done lol.

I think I can see most of the mistakes I've made, but feel free to share anyway, perhaps you'll find something new.

they are really small tho -.-"
1. when a deer runs it jums really hard, so the time length tht it is in the air is to short.
2. it has no tail >.>

Not exactly, deer have a more exaggerated/elegant run, but I suppose it's close enough. Thank you .

I think you did a very good job on this, Lhune! I love run cycles!
Can you tell me what you've been doing wrong on this, i'm interested in doing a run cycle for my own beastie.. So any objective look on this kind of work would be helpful! Thanks c:

Hmmm well for one I didn't use enough frames so it looks a bit edgy here and there. I didn't work on the position of the head and the movement of the back well enough so it's not really balanced out and the physics could be improved in that the speed of the legs should be affected by weight more, right now it's all a bit monotone.
I could crit your run cycle if you want .

Well, i think the back looks good enough, as for the head, i think this balance thing comes from the fact that maybe its neck is too straight and fixed.. And I see what you mean about the weight effect on the legs now. It all seems to depend on what part of the body you begin to animate that these kind of physics problems come up?
Overall, i still think it looks good. I mean, the major back movement and shoulder movement look mastered, and the head follows the body's dynamics. Everything can always be worked out more anyway
And i'd love to have your critique of what i'll try to animate, sure! I'll let you know when i get to it, i've still got some anatomy stuff to set up for the moment ;D
